There's some logic to it though. A second day pick with the kind of profile the Panthers like. He also lacks major hype so might be "stashable" on the practice squad for a year or two.

I still think Moore is the future with McCown being a "bridge to the future" if you will,but maybe "Brain" could pick up where Basanez left off.

the bridge is most of the time some old guy with 1 or 2 years max..but mccown is only i think 30..he is to young to the bridge..and both of these contracts are up next season.
