I'm predicting a win versus Chicago

As some of you may know if you've seen me post before, I'm very straight up. I tell it like it is. I predicted a loss against Arizona and a loss against Green Bay. Of course those games were closer than I anticipated, but I call them like I see them.

This week, now with Cam having a win under his belt, goes to Chicago where his head coach used to play and coach. Besides last years debacle, Carolina and Chicago tend to play close games. It's becoming sort of a rivalry. I'm picking Carolina to win this game because I predict a shootout and I don't think Chicago could win if it comes to that. Chicago's O-Line is putrid so I expect at least a sack from Charles Johnson and Greg Hardy. The LB's might get in on the fun too. 5 sacks on Cutler would be great to see.

On Defense, Carolina's secondary is ripe to be torn apart. I expect a couple of long TD passes from Cutler. But I also expect a few errant throws and possible INTs. Chicago does have a defense that could contain Cam Newton. Julius Peppers will no doubt grab a sack on Newton but who else can bring down Cam 1v1 on their defense? It'll be close, but Carolina wins a shootout.

Carolina 31

Chicago 27

Our O-line is nothing special..........but they've improved from last year which is a BIG step. What will really screw us in this game would be our WR's. They are just BAD! Our D needs to show up in a big way!!

Having won a game in the 4th quarter last week should help us I think in this game. For once, I'm not thinking a road game is a sure loss. I like our chances vs. this Chicago team that really still doesn't have an identity. Carolina does. We are agressive on both sides of the ball and I think vs. a team like Chicago, that's still shaky in terms of chemistry, we can disrupt their timing and their flow. Keeping their offense off the field for long stretches will put doubt in Cutler's mind and then our opportunistic D will pounce on his mistakes.

Our offense is beginning to gel and its a good sign that they pulled out the win last week even without the huge statistics. THose pass stats are going to return in this game (don't know if I trust the run blocking, but the pass blocking will be there). Cam is growing by leaps and bounds and the d-line is starting to get nasty. We do have a few weaknesses, but to me the real job is to contain Forte and pressure Cutler. A task I feel this Ron Rivera coached team will be capable of in this emotional and psychologically important game.

Panthers 28

Bears 20
