Jackson is being scouted more as a 3-4 DE. The reports I've seen have him listed as more of a DT in a 4-3 but not as effective. Considering the need for inside pressure Jackson would make a lot of sence IMO.

RJF is okay but I see him being more of a rotation guy. We need a rotation guy so that isn't a bad thing. I wouldn't want to see the Panthers draft him any higher than the 4th though.

Herman Johnson is a beast. But if a team is drafting him they doing so based solely on his size and not his skills. If the Panthers are wanting someone to come in and be able to compete right off the bat at guard than Robinson is the better option in the 2nd to 3rd rounds. Johnson is more of a 3rd to 4th rounder but I think that he will not last that long. So if the option was between Robinson and Johnson in the 2nd I'm taking Robinson. If Johnson is still there in the 3rd and they pass on Robinson in the 2nd the decision is not as clear.

I made a herman johnson thread in the draft section a good long while ago

Some sites are projecting him to be a late 1st early 2nd but that is wayyyy too high for what he is actually worth

scouting reports talk about how he is slow in pass protection and gets by more on his size rather than skill, he only does 24 reps, not that impressive

drafting him in the 2nd would be a mistake, 3rd round would be acceptable

My ideal situation would be to draft him when he falls to the 3rd or later and see if he can beat out vincent in training camp, he'll be a good backup and we could at least use him in power situations

this wasn't necessarily a herman johnson thread, more of a "who is fox scouting at lsu" thread. thats all

This guy is a possibility in the later rounds or as an undrafted FA.

A surprise performance came from DE Kirston Pittman (6-2 5/8, 250 pounds), who didn’t attend the combine. He turned in 40 times of 4.69 and 4.72, and had a 30 1/2-inch vertical and an 8-foot, 8-inch broad jump. He had a 4.45 time in the short shuttle and a 7.64 time in the three-cone drill. He put up 28 reps on the bench press.
