That had more to do with the offense that Fox wanted to run....run heavy and then take big shots down the field.

He did not develop the passing game because he viewed it as something merely to keep defenses honest....not as a real weapon.

IMO, thats somewhat of a misconception about Fox because of the last 2 years when we had no choice but to run. But if you look at the total number of passes vs runs from 2003-2007, we actually passed more than we ran. Even in 2008 when we had a dominant run game, we still passed roughly 45% of the time. And Fox had a winning record over that span, so we can't say it was because we were behind.

But in all his time here, Fox never developed a single qb or wr. He rode Steve Smith, Moose, and Jake Delhomme as far as he could, and then he was done.
