What is our biggest position of need?

Yeap. I just hope there is a guy when we pick that is worth it. I don't start really scouting until mid-season but so far no one graded out in the 1st impresses me too much.

Right now, I don't see a sure fire #1 DT next year. I mean Melvin Ingram from USC is a beast but I don't think he's the kind of DT we would need. We need a B.J. Raji type, Ndomokung Suh type of DT in this draft. I don't see one at the current moment.

If some of you see one let me know because I don't see one. The run needs to be shut down or at least contained. The current DT's we have are rotation material, get that 3 down dominant DT and we're golden!

gm

if Newton continues to dominate Hurney will start getting national recognition as a "genius" GM, even though he does make some pretty absurd/stupid moves.

as for the thread... DT DT DT DT DT

possibly OT depending on Otah this year.

wouldn't be mad if they took a blue chip WR

really as long as it's the best player available I'll be fine.

A blue chip WR would be great and really take this offense far. It would take some pressure off Smitty but remember Gettis will be back next season. Let's see what he can do in this offense.

At this point, the offense is further along than the defense. I say try to trade down and draft defense, defense, defense. DT, OLB, CB.

Unfortunately I don't think there is one in this class. I hope one is available in FA. Thats about the only position we should sign a big name. Our best option might be Kalil if he is there when we pick. Kick Otah inside and move Gross back to RT. Either that or a CB/OLB.

If a cb is the best available player, I don't have a problem with it. Morris Claiborne and Cliff Harris both impress me more than Kirkpatrick.

And for the Pac-10 fans here, has anyone seen any film of Desmond Trufant? I keep hearing his name but never can seem to catch any Washington games.

Why do people think otah would make a good guard? What sense does it make to complain about his inability to stay healthy then want him moved to a more physical, high-contact position? Is it just so we can draft Ryan's brother?

I cannot believe nobody has mentioned the secondary. Captain Munnerlyn is a nickel back at best, Sherrod Martin is complete garbage and practice squad fodder, and Charles Godfrey is out of position 90% of the time. But what it all boils down to is who is the best player is when we draft that fits out needs. If Alshon Jefferey or Justin Blackmon are available when we are drafting then I wouldn't be disappointed if we drafted them even if we have greater needs at other positions. The same goes for the d line or secondary or linebackers or o line (Jordan Gross os vastly overrated but that's for a different day). Quarterback wasn't our biggest need this year but we took the best available player and look what has happened. It's Cam-Mania here in Charlotte. Whoever makes this team better is worth our likely top 10 pick. Next year is when we make the serious run for the Super Bowl. :cam:

Huh yes they have. I personally believe its up there close to DT/OLB. And Gross is not vastly overrated he is actually pretty accurately rated. He is a damn good T, not the best but hes up there. And this is coming from a guy that would love to get Kalil and move Gross back to his all-pro position of RT.
