Thomas Davis NOT Retiring

That knee is done. Dont mean to be negative here, but tearing it 3 different times would let me know I can't do what I used to anymore. And he's not getting younger

Met with Dr. Andrews today. He doesn't see a reason why I wont be able to play next season. Having surgery in the a.m.

i hope he doesn't. my hopes will be exactly what they were for him this year. that he can come back and get back to his dominant self. i don't expect it, but i still hope it. they need his personality and leadership in that lockerroom and if he isn't hurt he's one of the best in the league.

i want him back and healthy. we should plan on that (him being healthy) not happening, though.

Nobody said he can't play but I'm pretty sure the risk of tearing it again in this dangerous sport is pretty high. A lot of contact and a lot of cutting and running. By time next year come he'll be 29

I dont understand why someone would want to continue going through rehab like he has

Yeah... I'm of the same mind.

And actually, not retiring is putting the team in a worse position. Even if you do return, you might not be 100%, you might tear it again, and now you've taken cap room up that could go to a couple young bloods that want to come out and make a name for themselves.

No disrepect intended here... but Davis needs to take one for the team.

The guy loves football, this is his drive, this is what he loves. This is what he was born to do.
