Navy/Marine Jet Flyover for Panthers

They are always doing training flights so they aren't doing anything extra.

Correct. Flyovers are legit training flights and as such are paid for by us at tax payer.

One thing tactical jet guys have to be very good at is flying "long" distances and then being over a certain spot within seconds of a set schedule. In this case from NAS Meridian MS to arrive right as the last note of the National Anthem is sung. They are usually right on the money but the one thing they don't control is how long the singer takes to sing the song so it's off now and then. If they are really off say 10-20 seconds ish somebody screwed the pooch.

Fly overs are one of the best things in all of sports if you ask me. Back when NASCAR was worthwhile they seems to have something buzz the track at every race.

Of course that sport has completely ruined itself. I'm no longer a fan, so I don't' attend races anymore....but that is a different story.

I do wish the Panthers would have a flyover at every game - I freaking love it when they do!

More importantly, my appreciation to your kid for his service in our armed forces. Fly over or not, he and his fellow servicemen are appreciated and respected.

Semper Fi.

that would be so cool.....didn't they do 2 last year for some reason? maybe Im thinking of 2009

It would be pretty easy to get 2 a year if they asked for it. Especially from the training command. "Local" students love flying for the home crowds and then standing around on the sidelines during the rest of the game.

Couldn't find a phone number or direct line to these people but you can call anywhere in the organization and get their extensions or whatever. Hopefully one of these people will be able to help with this.

Thanks!! I'll pass this along.

They usually do 2-3 a season. I'm pretty sure they have them scheduled. Good luck getting them to add another. I mean that nicely, btw. They have to set a day to practice, I'm sure it costs money, they have to clear it with the airport, etc. But the fans love it. The past few years have sucked though as the planes were always late. I know it's very hard to do because of the singer though. I remember one last season where the plane came about 2 min after the singer was done, lol.

Thanks! Well if the Panthers want another the Navy and Marine Corps have the time equipment and pilots waiting.....FFA/Airport clearance is a simple one page doc that usually is approved in a couple of days. I'm not sure how much practice they need need to do a simple time on time on target. Can't speak for the AF though :D
