Since Jake's contract is up after this season, who will be our QB in 2010?

I don't really understand why everyone is so sure that Moore is the heir-apparent either... yeah, he won some games two seasons ago at the very end, but they were against teams that had pretty much already locked up playoff spots. Nobody wants to bring up that fact when their spewing their praises about him. I thought he looked like garbage this past preseason, and unless he does something drastic and looks amazing this coming preseason, I don't think we keep him.

I have this gut feeling (which I know doesn't really make sense for the Panthers) that we're going to actually draft a QB this year. I would suspect in a later round, but with us "supposedly" scouting Pat White so hard, I wouldn't say that's out of the question. And, I wouldn't have a single problem with the FO taking him. Of course, most will say that the Panthers won't draft and groom a QB, but what other things have the Panthers done of late that's against the grain of what the Panthers organization usually does?

What's against the grain? We've done that seemingly more years than not. That's our schtick, we draft a QB in the 3rd or 4th round, be gains a roster spot albeit more than likely on our practice squad and the next year we bring in another lower draftee that takes his place, once again wasting a pick from the year before, IMO... Either go for it in the draft, which they don't believe in, or bring in FA to fill the positions - oh wait!

I like Moore a lot. He showed a lot of promise in 2007 when he got to start the last 3 games of the season. He went 2-1 as a starter, but I honestly think he would have been 3-0 if it hadn't been for a lot of very very questionable/horrible calls made by the refs in the Sunday Night game against Dallas. We don't need a QB who is going to light up the world. We don't need a Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Drew Brees on this team. We just need someone who can make the right reads, make good throws, and be a leader and game manager. I think Matt Moore can be that person. I could be wrong, but that's just my opinion.

Its not that you could be wrong, its that you are wrong. Moore wont be in the NFL in 2 years, maybe he continues his football career in Canada or in the AFL if it gets back on its feet. Much like Basanez, he isnt long for this league(has that scrub been cut by Chicago yet btw? He wont make it out of training camp if hes still with the team at all)

I'm glad you are all knowing!! That's really cool especially since the NFL is so unpredictable. So tell me. Who do the Panthers end up drafting with their first choice? I'm just dying to know and I would prefer not to wait till the draft. Tell me now!
