This would piss me off so bad to lose him after one year. A lot like what happened with Del Rio... I really hope we get at least like 3 years or so with him to give us time to get the coaches underneath him developed and familiar with the system...

Either that, or let's just pay him like a HC to keep him around. I REAAAAALLY want to keep this staff together for awhile. We need more Dick LeBeau-types around here.

There are a bunch of coordinators who were very good at their job who did not make good HCs. The roles are very different and require very different skills. At this point it is still debatable how good of an OC Chud is let alone good head coach material. As others have said, this is rather premature at this point. Look what people were saying about Davidson after 2008. How did that work out??

From afar, it doesn't seem like its worked out all that well for the Bears. They won last year mainly on the strength of their defense. And so far, their offense doesn't seem to have improved very much.

Given Chud has had a couple one-year-wonder performances, I'm wary of it occurring again in Carolina. The '07 season with Derek Anderson obviously, and his work in San Diego (although he was just the TE coach). Pair that with the trend of rookie QB's having decent first seasons and not so great second seasons. Look at what happened to Matt Ryan his second year, or what's happening to Sam Bradford now. Granted Sam Bradford is trying to learn a new system. But the factors are there to have a decline in his second year...but hopefully I'm wrong.
