Reason for Optimism (Vs Bears)

Recommended Posts

I have three reasons for optimism.

They each started at 1pm over the past few Sundays, except for the very first which started at 4:15.

I gotcha now.

Notice you said "They each started at 1pm over the past few Sundays" Few means 3. Plus the 4:15 game makes 4.

Thats why I was lost. :-)

More worried about the evolution of DT Melton than anything else; he will make Peppers look better.

I think that we need to have a short, slant, 3 step passing game for awhile. Cam can't hold the ball...too much time for the rush and too much time for Urlacher to drop back in coverage with the TEs.

I'm not sure how many battles our TEs would win with Urlacher; of course, who would know Urlacher better than Olsen, on the flip side.

Bottom line, no mistakes, balanced attack, must have some semblance of a run game, screens going to the opposite side of Peppers, short slants (hello LaFell, this is you with that big body) to keep the ball moving, and take those long shots on first down, no other.

Defensive, just hit Cutler, and hit him often.

Special teams, well, with Hester, Mare/Baker best do their jobs, Edwards on Punt Returns and Goodson on Kickoffs don't scare anyone; but, well, nothing to be done about that now.

Winnable game, Panthers 24, Bears 17.
