Armanti Edwards

sad truth is if AE was going to make it as a receiver in this league, we would start seeing flashes by now. It says plenty that he cannot make it on to the field with a weak lineup ahead of him.

I saw plenty of flashes in preseason.. who would he beat out for a position throughout these games? Olsen, Shockey and Smitty take up a lot of targets.. it's been reported Naanee is mainly on the field to keep the offense straight on running the offense. on top of an already under-utilized running game with DWill and JStew, who exactly is he going to beat out?

The coaching staff most likely doesn't trust him as a #2 receiver, and I don't find that astonishing.. rather typical actually.

I'll be ready to say he's a goner if he can't see the field at all next year..

If he showed anything in practice you think Rivera would hesitate to put him in the lineup?

I guess all the people cursing Naanee and wanting LaFell to start need to recognize this...

It does Zod.

It also says a lot about the stupidity of taking someone who is natural with one position out of college and trying to make them something else. Those transitions rarely stick.

Lost a couple of years with Thomas Davis, too, trying to turn a safety, into a LB as well, so out of his career so far, the first 2-3 years he struggled to become a LB, he becomes a decent LB, not pro bowl level but decent, and the last 2-3 years, out with ACLs. We got 2 good seasons out of him. In the meantime, we passed over Aaron Rogers for Davis.

AE is a wasted pick. It's not his fault the Panthers were that stupid. ...and it along with Everette Brown, and the reaching for Otah/Stewart are the reasons the Panthers are were they are now..

..oh yeah, and the failure in the past 10 years to draft: a decent QB, a decent WR, or a decent DT.

Brad Smith, Antwaan Randle El, Josh Cribbs, Ronald Curry and technically Anquan Bolden and Hines Ward would like to disagree..

also... TD is a HORRIBLE example..

really, I should have just responded with how awesome you are at using hindsight..

Go back and show me where I said that ! No where in any of

my post did I say any punt return man can score or pile up long returns despite bad special teams . Stop trying to make ish up to make yourself look better and prove your bs point .

No you're making yourself look dumb , because once again there's no where I said that except where I repeated where you said I said it . Stop trying to be slick you not good at it . Trying to point that out in bold print . That was just a repeat of your ignorance . And everyone with some sense on this tread can go back and see that .And non of my other comments that you repost say it either . Like I said stop talking to me . BAP

pipe down chicken little...

Punt return is 80% of the player making something happen on their own . You put a real punt return man back there and you'll see the difference

Since when can a punt returner manage to catch a punt with more then 2 people coming from all angles break free other then missed tackles?

Special Teams have a bigger issue then who is returning the ball, the special teams as a unit is playing horrific but i guess since Armanti returns it we can all point the finger at him, sure why not.

We can all agree that Armanti sucks though.

he displayed flashes in preseason.. was open a lot. another year and we'll see if it's all "potential" or if he starts showing up on the field. if it's the former, then it's time to move on.

No. I don't think he sucks. I don't think he's been given a fair opportunity to get on the field. As I stated earlier, I feel that He could thrive outta the slot.

I think the problem is that he can't block, or is a liability there.

If they put him in at the slot in games and can't/doesn't perform then I'll say he sucks. Until that happens, I can't judge what I can't see.

It's that simple

other than having watched the games, I can't think of any places to look for video.. you'll probly end up doing what I would do and search for it.

he had a very solid game when they played the Giants in the preseason.. he didn't shred 3 defenders for an incredible one handed grab 50 yards down the field for a TD, but he was consistently getting open..

Once you understand why you can't see it, it'll be even simpler.
