Armanti Edwards

His 10 yard return against the Saints was the longest one they have given up all season...not even the mighty Devin Hester did that

If he coud actually get some blocking, he would be doing a lot better

lolz

He would be better off if he was cut...he could go back to QB and maybe find a job somewhere...

NE raped us on that trade. TBH I think Grabbing AE was a ploy to keep butts in the seats while Jerry played keep the cash away. He is just not a WR and not really a PR guy either. Its not that he does not work his butt of its just the fact he is not all that good.

He has to be an upgrade, we know AE has speed and quickness, got separation in preseason but couldn't catch consistently. He's still learning the nuances of being a pro receiver. Nannee has hit his ceiling and knocked head pretty hard when he did it because he plays scared and slow with suspect hands and effort.

The three guys behind LaFell all have good straight-line speed, one has good measurable, the others have explosive speed and quickness.

I just don't see how it hurts to put these guys on the field. Better chances for longer scoring plays based on yac.

My guess would be they dont know the Playbook. Run the wrong route and the ball gets INTed.

I just don't see the guy getting on the field any time soon, not in this offense. We only really use 2 WR, Shockey and Olsen being the 3 and 4, Lafell rotationally, and Stew in the backfield. I've even seen DWill lined up wide over Edwards. Gettis coming back next year will mean even less opportunities for him. No reps, no experience, no progression.

Honestly, flame if you want, but I think Armanti should've been left as a QB and eased into packages as a WR as he develops into one, not the other way around. I seriously believe he has the tools to excel as a QB, although you'd have create a lot of lanes with the line or roll him out like the Saints do for Brees. But, we're determined to have him as a WR and we don't need a QB now either.

He obviously has improved as I believe he is 100% on catching punts (although I remember a muff, but I think that was preseason, can't remember for sure). And he was the talk of TC aside from Cam for awhile there as he showed a knack for getting separation, creating space, and occasional spectacular catches. Early in the preseason he showed that same potential...

The last two games of PS, he looked horrible. He muffed a punt at a key moment in a game and dropped almost every pass thrown to him (was at least 5 IIRC) in the last game. He also showed a tendency to get gator-arms when going over the middle.

I would like to see what he could do at WR, but as it stands, unless they give him a chance this year, I don't think he sticks next year. His PR average is pathetic, which is in part due to our ST unit as a whole, but it just doesn't look good right now.

At this point, give him some packages with Cam, whether it be bringing him around on a reverse or lining him up in the backfield giving the defense the threat of the run/pass from both Cam and Armanti.

If not that, ease him in with drag routes or he would've been ideal in my mind for the screen they designed for Naanee against the Saints... I seriously believe if they would've ran that with he or Pilares, that's a possible TD.

I hope he gets a chance... Otherwise, him lasting strictly as a PR isn't going to cut it.
