Fields played today and got pushed around, he's not as squatty as I imagined him to be. Kearse is.

I think a lot of people are being hard on both the rookie DT's.

The defense was stuffing the run like nobodies business, before the heavy rain.

Conditions like that heavily favor the offense, as they know where they are going. If you are going to complain about the rookie play, i have to as why no one is complaining about the mistakles and mistakes made by the veterans on those same plays we were gashed.

The jags weren't having success running the ball until the rain, and the commitment that the jags made on taking the game out of their rookie qb's hands.

The defense played very well for the most part, and it was due to the play up front, in the trenches.

Would kill ya to give them some credit...it certainly wasn't our offense that won us the ball game.

MJD's first 6 carries he had 7 yards. I'd guesstimate that 70 of his 122 yards came on 3 or 4 runs. On one or two of those it was just rookie mistakes (mostly by Fua it seemed) not filling his gap. It's coachable, and they're definitely showing improvement each week. I don't see the need to spend either of our first two picks on a DT next year. Maybe another later in the draft, but we have 3 young DTs right now that could easily develop into our main rotation for the next 10 years in Neblett, Fua and McClain.
