Why did we let go of Kasay?

Really? are people this fuging stupid? You don't kick a 50+ yard field goal with a minute left being ahead in 2-3 inches of standing water. fuging morons. The election to punt was the surest, safest, and most logical call.

Now go fug your couch if you don't agree.

so if we still had kasey we would have taken a a long field goal with standing water? no just stop. mare has been booming the ball this year and was the right decision for the future of the team.

The field goal would've been like 40-45 yards. It would've been better than trying a punt in which Baker has a hard time of coffin cornering. The Jags would have the ball at the 32 if the FG is missed instead of at the 20 after the punt. Only a 10 yard difference. I think instead of risking a punt to try to pin them at the 5 (which Baker struggles at), we should've risked trying to kick the FG. The difference would be minimal. I think Kasay still makes it if he were still here. I also believe he would've made the 50+ before the rain. If Adam Vinatieri can kick in the snow, Kasay can kick on a wet field after it's stopped raining.

I didn't come to this site during the game, but I knew people would be complaining. But I thought it would be about the 2pt conversion, or accepting the penalty on 4th down, or the usual message board targets (coordinators). It didn't even dawn on me that fans would want to try a fg in that situation. I doubt there are more than 1 or 2 coaches anywhere in the nfl that would try a fg in that circumstance.

Even kicking an extra point in those conditions are iffy. Quit being ignorant.

Are you crazy? Did you even watch the Panthers play before this year? It was well known that Fox wouldn't let Kasay kick in poor field conditions unless it was necessary because of his knees. No way any coach in the NFL kicks a field goal in that situation no matter who their kicker is.

Where did you pull that out of?

That's what happens when people who don't understand football are fans. Conservative play-calling, field position, well really any of the non-pretty football aspects, those fans generally have no concept of WHY decisions are made.

Up six, under two minutes, and Jacksonville has no T.O.'s, with a rookie QB, and no real threats at receiver....yeah you punt it and force them to get a TD. Or you risk a fumbled snap (see Turk's muffed punt), a miss and you give them the ball at the 40. That's a situation where you let a defense that played mostly well go out and win the game. Big ups to Thomas Williams on the deflection.

I mean was the decision to go for two not aggressive enough for you...? On top of that Captain almost got in position to pin that punt inside the five. If you as a football fan can't understand reasoning without knee-jerking to our kicker having a weak leg YOU sir are a moron.

Kasay was cut because 1)Mare can do kick-offs 2) They're career stats are nearly identical. I understand fan loyalty but let it go and educate yourself on the finer points of football decision making. You're probably the same idiot I play that goes for it on 4th and 6 in your own territory down three points in Madden...

If the Jags scored a TD and won the game, Im 100% sure you'd be singing a different tune.

What are you talking about? how is kicking an extra point after it's stopped raining risky?

It's not always about the rain jack ass, it's about standing water on the f****ing field.

/thread. This cat obviously just doesn't get it.
