J.Stew Should Be Our Starter

Are you sure I said he's been on all dive plays or would you like to try reading the post again?

We had this argument in the gamethread, and Stew turned around and broke "another" 10+ yarder

On a counter. Like I fuging said. Do you know the difference between different running plays?

Number dont like DawgzLife. Might want to rewatch the games... they get posted here

Stew making plays, D.Will not. Everybody has already acknowledged that except you for some reason

Numbers don't 'like' me? The makes me sad. ;)

I'm guessing you mean they don't lie. One that is factual, since you can make numbers say whatever you want them to say. The fact in this case is...before today's game...they were both averaging about 2.5 yards per carry (did I mention, BOTH, not only D-Will). So 1 game makes a whole season? Come on.

I am in no way saying anything 'against' J.Stew, but I am arguing that 1 game in very odd conditions should not determine that J.Stew starts the rest of the year.

Beaston, let's end this silly back & forth, b/c it is meaningless. I just do not agree with the thread title (not at this point anyway). Will you stand so blindlessly behind D-Will if he has a game where he has 100 yards & J.Stew has 50?!

If the talk about defense zoning in on him, how about we bring him in for Stewart to switch it up

because it's the playcalls as much as anything and if they just switch the backs you'll end up with nearly the same results.

I do think that Stew has made more of his opportunities but if you just look at the blocking there is just something not right when D-Will is out there.

No doubt Stewart should be the starter. I'm on record in many posts saying Deangelo was washed up and shouldn't have been given that new contract. I don't need to explain why anymore, but the facts are the facts. Hurney is far too eager to give out contracts based on nostalgia than on potential.

I don't agree with a lot of your post, but definitely the bolded part. I think D-Will will be fine, but a GM has to look at the team & make the best move for the future of the team; even tho I really like D-Will, I don't think it was the best move for the team long-term, due to $ & that we have/had other competent runners on the team & Hurney should have known how the offense whold use (or not) the RBs.

It is obvious that Deangelo doesn't look as good in this scheme so far, as he has in previous schemes. It also looks like Stewart is playing better than Deangelo at the moment too. I agree with most of you that Stewart should be getting a higher percentage of the carries until we find more ways to utilize Deangelo's abilities.

I don't know why Deangelo isn't more involved in the screen pass game. They seem to go to Stewart for that. I think he'd excel doing that. Although he's running behind essentially the same 2008 offensive line, they keep trying to run him up the middle and he just doesn't have the kind of agility he used to.

No doubt about it, look at his track record. This is a more recent occurrence if I have to say so. Starting with Delhomme after the playoff meltdown and moving to this offseason.

I said I'll wait after game 1... but now I'm convinced. It was eventually going to happen and it has. D.Will should come in and switch up the pace. But Stew should start
Amen bro.

DeAneglo doesn't look 100% yet.

Stewart at this point looks like the better back: quicker, more explosive, more confident making jukes and cutbacks etc.
