Is there a panther on the loose in San Marco?

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says they've received two separate reports of a panther sighting this week - once on Tuesday, then on Friday.

The wild animal was reportedly seen at the dead end of Lasalle Street and another sighting was behind 1501 Hendricks Avenue.

Officials with Florida Fish and Wildlife have been notified, but police are also offering the following advice to keep yourself safe: Be alert, supervise children, never approach a panther, keep pets safe and secure.

Would think that is common knowledege, people in Jacksonville must be retarded.

I thought the same thing also but I remember watching the news this week where a couple of young adults, guys, ran into a bear in the woods and was hanging out with it and even took pictures. They said it was a friendly bear..So maybe the those folks in Jacksonville might run into a friendly Panther..SMDH...:D

it's a sex panther, completely unrelated to the carolina panthers

unless you're counting cheerleaders, who are known to run rampant and crazed in florida

Gotta watch out for those older women in Florida too ... those "cougars". They're probably on the prowl looking for young studs at football games. :D
