Numbers You'd Like to See Retired?

This franchise has been around for less than 15 years with no World Championship (yet).....a Ring of Honor yes but not a jersey retirement.

The Green Bay Packers only have 5 numbers retired and that franchise has been around longer than anyone here (and their parents) have been born.

List of retired #s by team

As you can see, the three teams with the most #s retired, are the Giants, Bears, and 49ers, but those teams also have had tremendous success and numerous league championships (counting NFL championships before the superbowl era)

Let's start winning championships, and then we can think about who's number to retire. We've already got one, and we're the only recent expansion team out of 4 with a retired #. (Neither the Ravens, nor the Jags, nor the Texans have any #s retired. A case could be made for Ray Lewis when he hangs em up, unless his controversial criminal history becomes an obstacle)

i would much rather see us do some sort of ring of fame, but if we retired numbers id go for 4,30,89,51 and maybe 91? and then several years down the road 34,52 if they keep there production up

I didn't even think about Greene. He is one of the all time sack leaders. Good choice!

That article is incorrect. I don't know about the other teams but Sam Mill's 51 is not retired. There was a recent article on Panthers.com about the subject where the equipment manager said that while the number is not retired he personally doesn't give the number out and that no one has asked for the number, most probably out of respect. But the number is not retired.
