Yeah, I always laugh when some of you ponder if we're signing someone when we cut or restructure another (this season mind you). The update says it all.

I only mentioned it because Gantt's original entry about it left the door open as though something was to follow or perhaps Broughton had caused it himself. I don't think anything is coming personally in terms of signings, although I wish there was...

Pep is completely F'ing our entire team up. I really hope it will al be worth it when we finally get compensation for him. This is pissing me off. And I hope no one else picks up Broughton, he has a lot of potential.

I understand that part, but if we had to waive him for money reason's/ to get him off the books. Why would we only need to have him off the books for a few days. If we didn't have the money to keep him, then how are we going to have the money to resign him.

Maybe we are in the middle of restructuring someone or extending them in order to clear some cap space. That is more likely than thinking this Peppers thing will clear up soon.

Actually we were supposed to be 2.4 mil+ under the cap after releasing Ken Lucas, so I'm really not getting this. The cap is not obviously as cut-and-dry as we thought... Apparently someone else hit some escalators we weren't informed of and someone had to go.

The problem I have is... Wasn't there someone else we could've released/waived with a similar contract? I would've liked to keep Broughton.

Do you not understand why people are upset? You yourself just said "if". If he stays here, we're in a nasty financial situation. That's what has lots of people irked. We worry Pep stays.

If he goes, we're golden. Let's hope he does. I've thought all along he goes during the draft, but imagine just for a moment if he doesn't. Hurney will have many long nights getting that cap number to around 5-6+, and that's just a guess at what will sign the draftees and 1-2 FAs.

Broughton Released

From Gantt... Wonder if a signing is coming up? I'm kind of disappointed though because I thought this was a bargain pick up for us. Broughton is huge and athletic and I thought he had a chance to succeed Hoov later. Wonder if it was roster or off-field issues related.

Yeah that sucks. My father was following his career at The Citadel where he was known as Mr. Football for his athleticism. Good luck dude!

We obviously don't have anybody that we need the room for 9in the view of our FO) so why take a lower deal now? Some team will decide they want to deal for him around draft day and assuming he signs the tender, it'll get done THEN.

No he won't. As much as it will piss off many, re-working Delhomme will get more than we need to sign our draft picks. Don't forget our first pick is late second round.
