Why the hate on "Bandwagon" fans

nobody's interested in what kind of emotional/financial/etc investment you've made, it's actually pretty self-aggrandizing and obnoxious.

uuuuuhhhhhh nobody asked you to spend your hard earned money on PSLs. that's your choice bud. and lol i can't diss someone for making a financial commitment to something that's their choice alone? yes lets not diss people who spend their kids' college savings on a luxury sports car, they made a financial commitment to their A6 turbo with the sports appearance package. after all, audi, like the panthers, has a fan base as well and god forbid someone call them out for spending money on something because they made that financial commitment and you've got to respect it.

I don't own an Audi (or an equivalent) sooooooo.

Please stop trying to shame me for being a fan. I own PSLs and am proud of it plus a fan since inception the of this team. There I said it. Now tell me your hobbies or past times so I can make fun of them.

A fan of the Panthers is better than any other fan in my book. Bandwagon or not. However, lets show some respect for people that cheer on the Panthers through thick and thin. If you spend your hard earned money on PSLs rather than a vacation with the wife yeah it makes you a fuggin better fan. Just maybe not as good of a husband. And yeah wine and cheese is delicious but it deserves its bad name because most of the people that get their dick hard over it sit quietly in their seats after arriving during the 2nd quarter and leaving before the 4th. Football fans should be rowty meaning sh*t will get f*cked up. You can't get rowty with a glass of wine in your hand its just science. That sh*t will spill. Maybe they should just can the wine. The point is its not the wine thats the problem, but the container.

It's all the same once it hits the bloodstream.

Does that make you a better fan?

It makes me a more committed fan than most bandwagon fans. I have a hard time thinking we are beginning to have people in the region and around the country that are 'Pittsburgh' types with Panthers' garb. I deal with bandwagon fans from other teams at home games...some legit like a guy next to me who had been a Packers fan since the 1970's last game. But the people that obviouly just went out and bought their stuff recently because of GBs recent success grates my nerves. Typically they're the most annoying too. Remember all the new Falcons fans when Vick came to Atlanta? Boy were those some knowledgable folks!!!

All fans are great for the Panthers. Sure, we all get all bit frazzled with the fairweather and every franchise receives truckloads of bandwagoneers when things are going great and the wins are piling up. Some of us are lucky to own PSLs and been to every home game. Some of us go to as many as we can afford. We all come from all walks of life and although I am not a PSL owner - i have been a very committed fan since we got the franchise in 1993. Owning a PSL doesn't make one Panther fan better than another, it certainly is a great thing to own and you are committed financially.

Can't we all just embrace all fans and be happy that this franchise now has tremendous potential that will realized soon? This bandwagon is going to be flooding once this team gets all the needed pieces and starts to win. I am excited and will embrace all fans, new and old. I will also try to be patient cause there will always be the ones who make you want to smack your head into a wall.

Cam is doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing. He brings the Panthers national attention which helps in expanding it's fanbase.

So you've been a fan since '95. Who the fug cares. Those are mostly wine and cheesers anyway.

Welcome to all the new fans of the Carolina Panthers. I personally am glad to have you here....try the veal

I guess you're saying that wine and cheerers are the PSL holders,Right? As I would understand it no PSL's holders would =no NFL Carolina Panther football here in Charlote.

PSL holders HAVE to purchase there season tickets every year. We have a profesional football in Charlotte because we sell tickets. Let me suggest that to anyone that calls themself a Carolina Panther fans amd lives in the area.

BUY A TICKET AND GO TO AS MANY GAMES AS YOU CAN. We need fans to fill the seats and support our team at the stadium.

So the next time you see a PSL holder remember to thank them for spending their money to bring Profesional NFL football to Charlotte.

Welcome to all the new Panther fans...Try the pickled okra

Basically we all started off as bandwagon fans except for those who became a fan in 2001 and last year (like to hear those stories). Besides that we've had good enough team (or the potential) for people to come aboard. The key is if they jump on and become true fans and not fair weather types. This includes when a person folllows a team for one player. If they are all in for the team, then that's fine, but saying you are a fan of a team or franchise because of one player is absurd and diminishes the core fan base.

People have to start somewhere and if they are in for the long haul...good, bad or even if player 'x' moves on in a few years, that's considered a true fan in my book.

I have no problem with bandwagon fans... so long as they stay on the wagon. Most bandwagon fans are or become fairweather fans too. If you're hopping on you have to stay on. That's why I hate bandwagon fans for the most part. A lot of them jump right back off when things aren't looking so positive.

guys i'm going through a little dilemma. my son graduated high school last may and is dorming at UNC so i'm gonna throw all the poo he left in his room in the storage closet and turn his room into a man cave. now i've got my julius peppers fathead poster, various 8 x 10 photos of deangelo williams, jake delhomme, moose, etc and i framed all my ticket stubs but my biggest problem is picking out the right shade that's closest to panther blue to paint the trim in the room because i'm going to paint black as the primary color. i've been looking at the behr swatches for the last 2 hours and i can't decide if royal peacock or isle of capri is closer to the blue we use. somebody help me, this whole being a fan thing sure is tough work

home depot i think has nfl color schemes already made.

Despite being severely misplaced, the Carolina Huddle is my home; and forever will be. I welcome any new fans, as long as you leave the doom and gloom bs at the door and continue to look to the bright side.

This team has the brightest future it has ever had, and you are all welcome to enjoy it with the rest of Panther nation.

Go Panthers, my franchise, my support, my passion.

I don't brag about my hobbies that require zero work or skill because i don't feel entitled to get respect for it. So in essence all you've done is pay for access to season tickets and buy merchandise for the same team since the mid 90s. None of that entitles you to respect.
