Why the hate on "Bandwagon" fans

The only bandwagon fans I hate are native Carolinians that don't support their home team. If you were born in, and still live in the Carolinas, and you pull for a team from Wisconsin?? I mean, WTF?

Growing up here, I know you had to just pick a team, and if someone from an area without a team wants to jump on the Panthern wagon because of Cam, I'm ok with that.

Maybe their family is from Wisconsin and owns part of the team. I don't think it's very smart to judge why someone picks the team they do. Where you live and where you are born have nothing to do with it.

I am pretty sure we want new fans. Especially considering how easy it is to pick on the old ones. Having a great QB come in and revive a floundering fan base is not new to this league.

I don't necessarily dislike bandwagon fans - everyone who wasn't an original fan was a bandwagoner at some point. I do dislike: fairweather fans and new fans who like to pretend they are the font of all knowledge Panthers simply by virtue of liking the team now

Yeah, you're right. The guy in the Packers jersey and denim shorts with the mullet, southern accent and Dale Sr. moustache? His parents are probably from Green Bay.

It's not like I care that much, but if we ever lose this team due to lack of support, I will be pretty resentful to these bandwagon types.

I didn't see many Packers fans that were from Wisconsin. Most were talking southern wearing the recent super bowl jersey of choice, either Matthews or Rogers. Same deal with Pittsburgh fans.

I welcome any and all newcomers to Panther Nation. Nothing I would love more than to be good enough and have a big enough bandwagon to be able to squeeze all these transplant fans (I'm looking at you Buffalo, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, New York, Dallas, Washington, Cincy, Cleveland) out of BofA on gameday. If we can put together a string of successful seasons, this town will truly bleed Panther colors and we can finally push the haters to the curb.

You'd think once the Buffalo/Cincy transplants left those cities they'd be just as fast to leave the Bills/Bengals behind.
