Most Hated Panther ever: Jake Delhomme?

Jake Delhomme is on the decline. I wish it wasn't true but he is. Stevie Wonder could even see that...

Other than this year following major elbow surgery the numbers don't suggest that. His Td to Int ratio for example have improved and his completion percentage, YPA etc. are still as good as they were in 2003.

Making unfounded statements don't make them true. Why not look at the facts instead of your flawed observations. Even Stevie Wonder knows that things are not always as they appear (or don't appear as the case may be). :P

not to mention he continues to have the respect of the players and coaches.

I dont think to many folks can argue that with Jake on the field we can go 80 yards in the last 3 minutes of the game to score the win, Jake has done it time after time.

People forgot quickly how much Jake brings to our Offense. :mad2:

Folks would rather just stay pissed off because of a terrible- TERRIBLE- performance.

You know I just thought of a really good point. Alot of the people on this board want the still beating heart of Jake Delhomme given to them on a plate over one game. There is another thread on here about "Panther #'s we should retire". Well everybody over there is all about John Kasay getting 4 hung up. Im still pissed off about Kasay kicking the ball out of bounds in the Super Bowl. You can argue that the Panthers would have been able to get that game in to overtime at that point and had a shot to win. There is no doubt that the extra 20 yards we gave them helped them win the game. I view this as a bigger screw up then Jake vs Arizona. We had the trophy in sight, it could have happend. I think that Ill forever hold that one against Kasay. Im not saying he is the Panther I hate the most by any means though. Just some food for thought to all you Jake haters out there.

That was a big screw up in that game, and Kasay deserves blame, but Jake screwed up 6 big times against the cardinals and single handedly lost that game. IT would be one thing if he were a great QB that just had a bad day, but he's a below avg qb that had the worst day I've ever seen from a QB, at any level.

Regardless, does nobody else think we need to find the QB of the future? I can put up with Jake and his shenanigans for another year or two but we need to get a young guy back there to be the QB for years to come eventually. Unless everyone is happy with Moore and McCown.

The thing that I don't like about Jake is how he always heaves it up in double + coverage. It is almost like he has to do that 3-4 times a game. It got him in the playoff game. He usually gets away with it.

easy Musik. Those heaves you are talking about are what has made Steve Smith such a great receiver.

I feel like this is the deadest horse in the world to beat, but Jake did have help in losing that game, just like he has help in winning other games. Not saying he wasn't awful in the game and didn't play a hand in it, but our defense, coaching, offensive playcalling, etc. wasn't anywhere close to top notch either. The notion that he "single handedly" lost the game is silly.

you give it up 6 times..especially a couple in the red zone, you just lost the game for your team...single-handedly

True..everything else wasn't perfect and it would not have mattered if it was.

We knew what Fitz was going to do. We watched him do it early in the year. Nobody can stop him. Joke just had one of his patented "bad games" and we lost.
