A few thoughts everyone should remember about Sunday

I was going to let this thread die but since Ivan responded to it:

I do. It's not just what he says, but how he says it and his body language.

"Tom Brady is good, real good...but he plays in same league as I do."

Now he may have caught himself and backpedaled , but that part is pretty cocky. Also, the tone and air in his voice when he says:

"I'm just a QB in the National Football league".

As for your second point, yI believe you're asking me to prove to you that Cam Newton is a narcissist strictly based on those terms and that definition. I cannot, at least not at this point, being confined to those terms, but again, that is not something I based my initial statement off of. That is also not something psychologists do when looking back on leaders throughout history, or CEOs and categorize them as narcissist. They do not "diagnose" them which is why I repeatedly stayed away from their term.

You can however categorize them by their type(there are many different types of narcissists), actions, interchangeable personality traits, and documented inter-personal relationships, accomplishments or work.

Maybe you didn't, but I actually saw just about all of those things in his most recent interview as well as his time at Auburn with the exception of simple selfishness. But yeah, self-importance, egotism, vanity, conceit.... I do see them. Quiet easy to notice.

I am done with the narcissist argument, it is evident that is going nowhere and you are entitled to your opinion. Earlier you said you have seen those things from Cam. What has Cam done to display those things to you.

Well like I initially said, at first when I first started learning about him, he just simply reminded me me a whole lot of other athletes which have been characterized as big time narcissistic: O.J., Floyd Mayweather, Ali, etc.

After I started learning about it, it was his relationship with his father, media workout, and more recently the way he took over the team and acts like he's a veteran leader at the position, as well as the most recent comments that are now being discusses on ESPN and just the way he carries himself. His personality is on the edge of bursting I think.

But more than anything I think Cam's more in love with himself than anyone else I have ever seen. Though Floyd Mayweather comes very close and if Cam ends up as perfect as him in his career....I'm good:D:

And my favorite:

LOL. That picture actually got me looking just out of curiousity, to see if there was any other quarterback with a bigger "win" smile. It actually took work, most don't actually smile like that, but the closest I could get....

TomBrady.jpg

Tom looks like it's bothering him to smile. Yeah, not even close. Peyton, I couldn't find one of him in uniform. Dude barely has a "win" smile. Now looking over at receivers, T.O or Ochocinco, oth...

....is what happens when that narc starts going towards that dark side. LOL. And yes, imo, both of those guys are full blown narcissists too and both very much in love with themselves. That's just unfortunately what you sometimes get when a big time narcissist has to be a team player, instead of a team leader. They find other ways to get into the spotlight.

So you are using his smile, him being a leader, and an interview in which he said "there is no time table for success. There is no hall of fame league, all QBs play in the same league. No excuses, all us rookies can do is watch them and learn from it" to say he has displayed "self-importance, egotism, vanity, conceit"? I still fail to see it. This conversation is pointless and going no where so I'm done.

No, I am using everything that I said above. Do I need to quote myself again or are you going to continue only taking portions of what I said, re-state it, and continue to make half baked arguments?

I'm done with that too!

Hmm no mention of how him reminding you of those athletes shows "self-importance, egotism, vanity, conceit"

You list some stuff but still don't show how it displays any of those characteristics.

So here you say you think Cam is in love with himself but don't provide any evidence to back it up. So you still haven't answered my question.

A bunch of pictures. Those really explain to me how you see those characteristics in Cam.

This doesn't even mention Cam.

You say both guys are full blown narcissists but still fail to provide any evidence to what led you to that conclusion. My question is very simple: What evidence do you have that suggests Cam display "self-importance, egotism, vanity, conceit". Listing a bunch of stuff means nothing when you don't EXPLAIN how they are evidence of those characteristics. You still have yet to do that.

Add in the fact that your entire post revolved around him being a narcissist which I already stated I am not arguing, and it is clear you are not trying to answer my question but instead arguing just to arguing.

First of all why do you continue to get stuck on this idea that Cam Newton must display those exact characteristics, for me to say he's a narcissist?

Once again, a narcissist is a person who has an excessive admiration or is excessively in love with himself, and can display any number of personality traits that are synonymous to those four, but not limited to just those 4.

And yes I do see a person who is very much in love with himself and displays some of those characteristics as well as others that are not listed. You want me to break down each freaking little trait and their synonyms connect them to my observation and make another 1000 word post just so you can pick on one line and then go "this one doesn't fit"? I'm not going to do all that for you.

I mean honestly, if you don't understand why someone like Ochocinco who-changed his name, put gold teeth in his mouth, has repeatedly boasted on countless occasions about his greatness for years, the TV shows, the drama.... who is very much cocky, arrogant even, loves to draw attention to himself, vain, and excessively in love with himself and can quite easily be characterized as a narcissist - I hardly doubt I'm going to be able to give you satisfying "evidence" on why I think Cam Newton is a narcissist.

Like someone else said, I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you too!

PS: You say you are not arguing but that is exactly what you are doing: "Hmm no mention of how him reminding you of those athletes shows "self-importance, egotism, vanity, conceit". This is just spinning for the purpose of arguing when you and I both know damn well, what I'm saying is I think he's a narcissist because he reminds me of other narcissists. This is the kind of thing I am tired of.
