Rivera & Chud know what they are doing...I think

that's how it works if you want to go down 20 points to GB in the 1st half..

Don't get me wrong, I love the wide open passing, but you can't just say that the running game is bad when they're not even calling runs. There will always be some runs that get stuffed even when it's clicking. It was like that in 08 too.

That said, the only real criticism I have, is that they should have run it in the redzone when they had the chance to pick up a 3rd and 1...especially if they already knew they were going to go for it on 4th down anyway.

I guess I'm coming from a side where I'm tired of watching Fox run the ball 3 straight downs and punt the ball.. I fully understand the benefits of a run game and that it takes a 1st half to wear down the D.. but our OLine is notorious for only picking it up late into the season. we've had 3 years of evidence.

I expect our run game to still pick it up whether we run the ball 15 times or 30.. maybe not as fast, but we are also giving Cam great passing experience, on top of defenses trying to stop the run and force Cam to pass..

but, everything you said is on point..

screw the run game. The checkdowns to Stew are basically the same thing and he got what, over 100 yards receiving? if the checkdowns are gonna be 1000x more effective than the run, and nobody can really stop it, whats the difference? from what ive seen, the only thing holding us back from scoring like 40 points in both these games is our red zone offense. i guess the running game could help that but Cam needs reps there if he's ever gonna master it, so we might as well give him all we can this season while it doesnt really matter

There is literally no point in having Naanee on the field...use that vacancy and put Felton in and run out of the goddamn I. Since this is a learning process, Newton will have to eventually get accustomed to taking some snaps under center.

I agree with using a fullback! With our offensive line sucking it wouldn't hurt to have another blocker back there on some of the downs. Wasn't the last time we had SMASH and DASH tearing it up there was a pretty good fullback by the name of Brad Hoover back there? I say mix it up a bit and agree to get Nanee off the field!

Perhaps the opposition knows from last year that all we had was a running game due the the complete lack of a half-decent passer. Theyre not used to us passing competently at all, so until Cam came out & passed for consecutive 400+ they did not think we would try to air it out. Pretty much all the tape AZ had was last year & a couple of doodoo preseason games. GB couldve thought that the 422yds in week1 was either a fluke, a weak AZ secondary or beginners luck. From what it looked like to me, and I am nowhere near as knowledgeable as some of yous, that both AZ & GB were set to defend the run most of the time. I could be wrong, its happened a few times, but thats what it looked like to this fan....
