Getting a dog from a breeder vs shelter

Get purebred boxers. They're the best.

I'm going bulldog:

The Bulldog, also known as the English Bulldog, is friendly, calm, gentle, and good-natured. He is a couch-potato! He loves to curl up on the couch and sleep all day. He's stubborn and unwavering. If he doesn't want to do something, you'll have a hard time getting him to do it! His clownish behavior will make you laugh. He forms a strong bond with children and is very good with them. He thrives on lots of attention and love from his family. He can be a very destructive chewer so give him plenty of chew toys and hide your slippers. He's a homebody; he isn't the kind of dog to wander off and prefers to stay in the yard close to home. He drools and slobbers a lot -- especially after eating and drinking (expect mess). He often has wind (flatulence) and it can be quite smelly. He snores loudly and snuffles, snorts and grunts frequently. His flat face and short nose causes him to overheat in hot weather. If he does you will need to take him inside in the air conditioning or allow him to rest in the shade until he cools down.

I found a german shepherd pup someone had dumped on the side of the road about a month and a half ago.

I really wanted a boxer, but there's no way I'm just gonna leave a puppy on the side of an empty road with a 45 mph speed limit.

Some people don't deserve to breathe.

Thats how my father in law got his dog. She was three months old and found on the same type of highway.

This pup couldn't have been more than 9-11 weeks old when I found him. Someone had already trained him to sit.

When I found him, he was sitting beside a telephone pole at the wood line, watching cars, and running back into the woods after he saw them.

At the base of the telephone was a den he had dug himself, and he was skin and bones.

So the only conclusion I can draw is someone sat him out on the side of the road, told him to sit, and drove off. He was waiting by that telephone pole for them to come back and get him.

I'd like to beat their brains out and make a stew from them and feed it to their children if they have any.

Also, he is an "undesirable" color to some breeders, being a sable german shepherd. Some breeders will actually put down puppies for having undesirable traits.

So if you want to support that kind of meat circus, go ahead.
