Gross talks about the Red Zone

Mr. Scot

I think his comments are being misinterpreted as a shot at Chud or at Chud's calls. The way I read it is you'd like to be able to run it just as much as you pass in that area, and him saying that he doesn't fell Chud is trusting them is his justification for the obviously pass heavy play calling in general.

We preached all off-season about how we want to have a balanced offense.

Gross needs to get used to the fact he now plays for a staff who observes and makes adjustments live during games based on what is working and what isn't.

You want to run more?

Open some damned holes for your running back.

Sux this thread is just an invitation bash Gross over a misinterpreted quote about something he alone has no control over.

Gross is a really smart guy and a leader on the team. He may not have intended it to come off the way it did, but it is pretty hard to misinterpret the comment about Chud not trusting them.

Give the o-line and Jordan a ton of credit for their pass blocking as it has generally been excellent, but they are just not opening the holes yet on running plays.

There have been many opportunities for our o-line to run block but they are not performing. Personally I think Gross has lost a step which happens over time to all players but we have not really upgraded our line with a high caliber player since Otah and he can't stay healthy. We can't keep ignoring the offensive line and expect to dominate the run game. They have been average in pass protection but nothing special. We really should have spent some money upgrading the o-line this year.

ummmmmm Kalil? One of the best centers in the nfl?

I just thought what he said was a bit odd, it doesn't bother me a bit. I'm more surprised at the comments about how Gross' words aren't valid because of a holding call that he didn't even commit. He's like the second oldest Panther and you don't turn on them for a penalty, valid or invalid.

What did Shockey and Gross run into one another and switch souls? STFU Gross.

Doesn't sound like the guy we're used to, does it?

Exactly. If I'm Chud, I sit him down and get this straightened out immediately. I thought the comment was borderline insubordinate.

I'd have to agree.

Odd to see something like this come up with only two games in the books, and that in a rebuilding year.

Raises a question. Does Chudzinski have the full respect and buy-in from the guys he's coaching?

its not hard if you miss interpret Chud not trusting the oline to run block in key situations as, "he should trust us", or "we should run it regardless", or "fug chud", or even "i think i should be callin plays, id call it straight 50/50"

hes simply saying what needs to be said and basically called out the whole oline including himself for not being up to speed enough to garner the trust of their coaching staff

I seen Matthews fall for Cams legs and he got up and pointed like Olsen tackled him down which didn't happen

He didnt throw the flag till Cam had scored. The more I watch it the more pissed off I become

Lobbying for calls happens a lot. And sometimes it works.

(Delhomme used to be pretty good at it)

When you're the World Champs, there's a good chance refs will give you the benefit of a doubt.

Maybe you're right. I've always had a lot of respect for Jordan and even more so after he and Wharton organized the off-season workouts (with or without some "help" from the front office).

Keep in mind, though, this is a big change from Foxball. It wouldn't be all that surprising if some of the o-line or RB's didn't buy into it immediately.
