Office debate: Best Hollywood remakes of all time?

Red Dragon. Manhunter desperately needed a remake. And you can't complain with a cast like Norton, Hopkins, Fiennes, and Hoffman.

I was going to say Avatar for it's thoughtful retelling of Fern Gully, but Avatar would suck even in the realm of remakes. So glad I didn't pay money to see that movie.

no way... manhunter is waaaaay better than red dragon.

The Crazies and Dawn of the Dead are both better than the original.

I really love the Batman, Star Trek, and James Bond reboots/remakes.

Halloween was a good remake, I know a lot of people hate it but it's the kind of remake that I like. It keeps the original story while making some changes that makes it different and interesting to watch.

No way Halloween remake was better than the original. Just no way. The org Halloween was a game changer. Dirt cheap to make, minimal, almost Hitchcockian in pace and style.
