Naanee or LaFell?

Ouch :sosp:

Curious as to why people think Naanee is starting right now? Ex-Charger bias, or did he actually earn it?

in theory I would think it would be b/c it would make the odds more likely that Cam has a WR out running the routes he should be (new system and all).

BUT, I wish we knew what WR ran the wrong route in the redzone that Cam mentioned.

@Scot, I've read your posts, you don't have to repost them. You just seem to come across as putting his ceiling as nothing more than Jake With Legs, and I can't for the life of me understand why you think so low of him. I've critiqued Cam as well, but I have never placed these apparent restrictions on him that it feels like you are doing. I think the sky is the limit for him, that's my analysis.

The Delhomme comparison is about style of play, not ability. And in reality, the comparison was Delhomme/Elway/Favre

I've been very happy with Newton so far, but I'll critique him the same as I would any other player.

That said, if you can read posts like the one examining his first TD (linked in a prior post) and still think I'm down on him, you're reading with your own blinders on.

LaFell

One of the first things I noticed at the game on Tuesday was the amount of energy going into practice reps. Smitty, being one of the smallest guys on the field, came off as one of the biggest (to me) because of how intense he did everything on the field. LaFell also looked to be working hard.

Naanee, and this might be a testament to his athleticism, but it appears to me that he isn't ever really trying. There were a couple of passes during warm ups that he half heartedly went after, and it seems like he doesn't feel comfortable going that extra body length to get the ball if necessary.

I think the question now should be when is Armanti going to get some of the opportunities that Naanee is getting. Lafell has looked better than Naanee for a few weeks now.

Ajirotutu & Pilares will get significant time at receiver before Edwards does.

Edwards is all legs, nothing else. I'm ready to see him in the wildcat, though.
