The Jags should have drafted The Golden Calf of Bristol, their hometown hero. He definitely would have brought the money in.

Winning fixes all of that. If we lose with The Golden Calf of Bristol it buys us another year or two, or it could be what kills the franchise when fans revolt since we "destroyed" Tebows development if he does not pan out.

And on the blackout issue, all of our games, at least locally, had their blackouts lifted on the Friday or Saturday before the game.

These guys really think Gabbert is going to lead them to wins. They really must not understand that Mercedes Lewis is literally their only option in the passing game. If Sims-Walker was still there I'd say we could talk about them winning games but jesus he even hit the road. This is such a poorly mis-managed and coached football team that has dropped the ball so many times it really makes no sense to me how they haven't folded. They have had terrible drafts, can't sign a free agent, I mean it's really bad down there.

These guys just need to move to LA...bottom line..I really feel bad for the city because there's no way in hell I'd support that bullshit either.

Well hmm..just off the top of my head in no order:

The Bucs, the Dolphins, UF, Florida State, USF, and UCF. And I'm probably forgetting something.

I mean I'm pretty sure the Jags were averaging Detroit Lions 0-16 season type attendance when they were going 8-8...it's a bad deal

There is so much misinformation in this thread it is hard to keep up with but since I am taking a small break from playing Order and Chaos Online I can respond to this one... Lewis is the best pass catcher on the team but Mike Thomas is no slouch. Also, Jones Drew should look to get more catches this week. We also have a second TE who catches passes but doesn't see the field much because of Lewis.

About Sims-Walker, the guy didn't "hit the road". We cut him because he was a money hungry diva who felt he was in the top echelon of receivers in the league. He also forgot to show up to too many games, meaning that he had too many 1-2 catch performances to be paid like a 1.

Another thing was he was late to too many practices and there were two incidents where he broke team curfew and showed up late to a game, where he showed up right before kick off. He was unreliable and often hurt. He will not be missed by most fans.

Good to know on Sims-Walker...didn't know about that so you can have that one. But based on reading those Jags forums it seems like your fans don't have much faith in Mike Thomas either to the point that there's a thread about benching him.

I agree that Mercedes Lewis is very versatile and MJD is a top 10 back, but if there's no one on the outside who's a threat, that substantially raises Gabbert's chances of failing. A screen pass to a back and a 10 yard out or corner route to a TE doesn't exactly scream production on offense in the NFL.

Panther fans can be a testament to that...we had a top running attack and a pro bowl receiver last year and we all know where we ended up a year ago. Teams need more than one or two options...that's why we invested in Olsen and Shockey.

Mike Thomas is supposed to be our 1, but he is the perfect slot receivers. If coaches wanted to do what is best for our team, we need him to be in the slot when we have a slot receivers. On top of that, I have no faith in our QB coach. Carolina stole ours.
