Panther's Training Staff

I don't know if they could really be the reason but I think it could be a possibility. Panther's get decimated by injuries pretty much every year, and yet there are teams out there who hardly ever have multiple severe injuries in the same season.

Could the issue be that the training staff isn't getting these guys properly stretched out or cooled down after games or practices? Not identifying potential problems if they can?

I dunno but I just refuse to believe the Panther's have the worst luck in the NFL when it comes to injuries. I would imagine there has to be some reason it continues to happen.

Reading is hard....

I didn't say just this year. None of those teams are killed by injuries year after year. BTW sorry i'm not going to scour the forum to see if someone has made a thread or a post remotely similar to the one I felt like making.

But I guess trolling is what trolls do so I shouldn't be surprised.

I've never noticed the Panthers having more injuries than other teams. Some years are bad, and a major part of a good team is the luck of no injuries. There is nothing a training staff can do to strengthen a ligament.

I spent a few minutes trying to do some research on injured reserve trends by teams over the last several years. Unless I didn't use the right keywords, there is really little historical info out there and it is often contradictory.

In any case, in 2010, we put 11 players on IR. The league average was 7.

In 2009, we put 15 on IR, while the average was 12.6.

Keep in mind 2 or 3 years in a row above the average is not statistically significant, so you cannot draw conclusions from a couple of years of data.

If anyone knows where I can find good historical week 16 IR lists it would be appreciated.

Accidents happen its apart of life stop looking for someone to blame to make sense of things

I understand the connection and trying to make sense of it given the non violent nature of the sport.

Not sure if these comments were in response to my post, but if you are in Hurney's shoes, it makes sense to review the data. There are sound statistical methods to determine whether the team is tracking pretty much like every other team, or whether we are an "outlier". Should we fall into the latter category, it is incumbent on the team to try to discover the reasons, be it training staff, playing surface, strength and conditioning, etc.

I guarantee you every team tracks this data for this very reason.

It goes back to 1998 when this fan tried to bring a goat into the stadium...........

    • Fair enough. I never once said not supporting Tepper makes you a bad fan by the way. I can't stand the guy myself. You on the other hand don't like anything about the team. You can't stand the owner or the coach because his religion doesn't fall in line with how you feel it should so I'm curious why you are even a fan at this point? Hell, you like nothing about the team, why even be a fan these days?  We can go backs and forth about how many games we have been to and measure dicks if you want or but it doesn't matter. I've been to my fair share over the years. Some as a fan and some work related but I bet you have been to more due to my weekends being filled with some work I do at the collegiate level so I probably only average maybe 2-3 games per year tops. You have me beat there im sure. You are probably very correct on us not being the same in anything at all I am quite sure of that. If I'm a "mark" (as you put it) for not liking Tepper and not caring about Canales religion or his political beliefs or letting it have weight on whether or not I like the team then call me a "mark" but you're still a whiny bitch either way.  When you hate everything about leadership from their personalities to their religious beliefs all the way to who they vote for at that point why even be a fan? I can side with you judging by your beliefs that you have made apparent, if you owned and coached the team, I sure as hell would find a new one to support but as you said we are different. Enjoy Norway, it is a beautiful country. Visited last year myself and absolutely loved it.
    • The playing well part, depends on what happens going forward. It could have been a tease that will dig our hole deeper.  In the small picture of one game, probably his best game. Green Bay wasn't as great as people think it was. More like one good quarter. Followed by two games of exactly nothing.
    • Oh, it was handled horrifically.  Ego got in the way of a plan.  I'm just saying, that he actually probably stumbled into the better outcome/plan.
