many more injuries, and we'll be back in the Luck sweepstakes...something we may need to re-load at all these positions we are dropping like flies from.

Newton's first two games alone have probably saved him from us even thinking about Luck if we happened to get that pick - which at the highest I give us a 1% chance to get, the Chiefs and Seahawks are way worse than us, we will win Sunday - if we got it, we should trade to a top 5 team, get maybe all their picks which then would give us like 5 picks in the top 70. Get Justin Blackmon or Alshon Jeffery.

Back in?? When did they leave??

We left the Luck sweepstakes when Newton came out of the gates setting NFL records......

Now we just have potential to upgrade our team on defense or the OL.....even if that meant landing the #1 overall. Cam has come into the NFL doing what people thought Luck could do if he exceeded his high expectations.

It never fails. Something bad happens to one of our players, or the team loses a game or fails to execute on a play, and here you come with one of your cute little quips.

Does it make you feel better? Just wondering as to your motivation because from the outside looking in, it seems you would have no reason to post here.

Our QB shouldn't be our leading rusher. I understand he was hit in the pocket, but you can't expose him to those kinds of hit constantly and hope this never happens. Let this injury be a warning.

You said it he was hit in the pocket. The rest is irrelevant. I told everyone he is more likely to be hurt getting from his blind side in the pocket then he ever will be in the open field where he can see it coming. Rushing had nothing to do with it.

If this injury is a warning we better run him more often and roll him out on every play and keep him out of the pocket.

Yep. Context is everything isn't it?

couple thoughts...

running Cam inside seems like a bad idea... I don't like him being our leading rusher in the situations he was running... I like him as a scrambler but he had a lot of QB draws. opens him up to more hits, and the more the hits add up... he's going to take hits from standing in the pocket the way he does, so we have to protect him in other ways IMO. but I think as Cam and Chud get used to each other a bit better, we'll see more run/pass options etc.

as to being in the luck sweepstakes, we still are in. while I think we won't end up with the #1 overall, even if we did, Cam would have to ROYALL SUCK for the next 14 games for us to take Luck. Otherwise, we'd have a king's bounty of first round picks to some poor team below us to get Andrew Luck, and we'd probably walk away with Jeffery or a nice DT/CB and a boat load of picks in the future.

    • That would be a great pick, he might be my favorite for us right now.
    • The coach- Canales was a rookie hc and at times looked like it. But he did manage to revamp the offense, helped Bryce not look like the biggest bust of the draft, exuded positivity,  and made the panthers watchable again. We have a viable head coach for the first time since rivera The gm- Morgan had some hits and some big misses. Hits- the ol, Coker, demani, dj at first. Misses- almost every d player signed, brooks, the jury is out on x. I get what he was trying to do with brooks/Hubbard but it blew up in his face. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes. But he did trade mingo for a 4th, managed to get a 2nd rounder this year from the Rams and I am a fan of constantly churning the bottom of the roster The draft- x can be a solid player but not until he catches the ball, brooks was a high risk pick that didn't work out, Wallace, demani and Chau Smith can be solid contributors and showed glimpses, Coker and jt should be mainstays. And flipping a 7th round lb that was about to be cut for Jackson was a great move.  The offense- had its ups and downs but Bryce has turned from one of the biggest busts in nfl history to a potential franchise qb, that change is worth its weight in gold, thielen was crafty and underrated as usual, Coker was a gem, jt was the solid but has some growing to do, and Hubbard has been awesome, the o line was much improved as well The defense- well...they set records, injuries, poor coaching (imo), bad playcalling and just plain sucking this defense needs everything to change, we need horn and Jackson back and we get brown back but we need bodies and an identity. If they can do with the def what they did with the o then we can challenge for the division bc we already have some pieces there.  Overall- this was a growth year full of questions and some of the major ones were answered(qb, coach). For the first time in a long time the season didn't end depressingly and I do have cautious optimism for next year. But they need to learn from the mistakes of 2024 and if they do I like where this team is headed. On to the draft and 2025
