Thomas Davis tears ACL

I haven't read this thread at all due to the agony of losing one of my personal favorite panthers and personas, but why are there so many who think this is "it"? I'm not being a smart ass, I understand one can only endure so much mentally and physically, but i'm sure mentally he's not going to give up, so is it just unlikely that he'll ever heal properly after so much scar tissue or something? what gives? (besides the ligaments)

Financially, for the Panthers, it is over. As bad as it sounds, they are running a business where the injury rate is 100%. Sometimes you have to cut your losses. It's not his fault, but its also not a 5-yr olds fault if he is terminally ill with cancer, it's just harsh realities. We can't pay a player to play 0-1 games a year. Just won't happen.

Terrible, just terrible for the Panthers. TD is an outstanding player, leader, and person.

But I can't begin to imagine how devastating this must be for Thomas Davis.

If his career is over, he is the kind of guy I hope can stay around the organization.

If there s a miracle and he ever comes back...I bet he will be as loyal to the Panthers as they have been to him.

What if Beason comes back and tears his again. Then we'll really be fuged. Otah isn't turning out, if we want to keep jstew well have to resign him soon...now TD. If Beason isn't jinxed to go down the same road, we can always move him back to OLD and keep Connor, I guess it all depends on all the options.

Thanks TD for all you've done.

I was afraid of this happening. I'm glad the coaching staff was reading this forum and listening to the crys to trade Conner. We just got thin at the position from the top. I'm sure that Davis career is over. So we'll be going with Gaither, Conner and Anderson. It'll be interesting to see how we rotate our LB'ers or who we sub in on passing downs for MLB.

I just found out. I remember seeing him laying on the field in agony holding the back of his knee as the training staff asked him about the location of the injury. I had an idea then that it might be the ACL, but still this is shocking. I can't remember any other NFL player that had 3 ACL injuries.

How good is Gaither?

Better than people give him credit for.

Anderson

Beason

Davis were the best LB trio in the League.

Anderson

Connor

Gaither is still decent. Speaks to the depth we have at the position. Could've made it even better by signing a Tatupu or such today, but well..

"He was a guy we really liked coming out.."
