Steve Smith Vs Jerry Rice

Happy Panther

#89 leading the lead in receiving yards. Feels good to see his mug back on the top of the nfl.com standings. Looks like another 1,000 yard season is on the horizon if he can stay healthy. Smitty will bounce back from his mistakes this past game. We lost as a team.

Its been 11 years now and the guy is still producing big for us. #89 has the chance to surpass Moose this season for the most receptions and receiving yards all time in team history.

I would say he needs 3 or 4 more very good years as well.

This. With Cam, at least he has a fighting chance. QB play the last couple of years really hurt him.

The only WR I can think of who pretty much got in the HOF due to rings is Lynn Swann. He was a great WR, but if you look at the pure numbers, he shouldn't be an HOFer. He wasn't even the best WR on those Steelers teams. Hell, you could make the argument that Stallworth got in on rings too I guess.

Smitty has already nearly doubled Swann's career receiving yardage. He's surpassed John Stallwart's too.

but yeah steve is absolutely beasting this year.. even against good D's. If he doesn't get injured he is probably going to have a career year if we keep up with all this passing..I'd still rather us be more balanced with running and passing; I like wins better than stats.

there needs to be some kind of average in that too. i might try to make a C++ program for that for "fun" i just started my intro class and im looking for something interesting to do just to play around.

Smith might be ahead but Rice's strong performances near the end need to be addressed.
