ya never know though. bucs have a very poor pass defense and the colts could help him make up for the 289 yard game he's missing.

Rice had some monster games the last 3 weeks of that season. You can be tied after 13 games at 1285 yards and you're still not in good shape.

Because of this I think it's more useful to go by the per game average (115.5 YPG) rather than the actual game by game aggregate. That means at week 10 to be on pace to tie the record you'd need 1155 yards rather than the 1037 yards Rice had at that point. This means both Smitty and Welker are significantly behind the pace they need to break the record, moreso than the way you are listing it.
