Yeah, we're 0-2, and yet nobody can deny Cam's ability and this teams hunger to once again become a winning franchise who regularly owns their divisional foes. Check out this thread I found on a Falcon message board, it's good for a few chuckles.

I was really hoping he was going to be a bust, and he still might be. However, unless he gets hurt I don't see Jimmy Clausen ever starting for them again. Being a UGA fan I personally don't like the guy. He beat my team, and now that he is out of SEC he is now in the NFC South. I was hoping I had seen the last of him after he left Auburn, but no, here he is again. LoL. Oh well, no one said it was going to be easy!

Not really because in all likelihood the taints will win the wild card in that scenario leaving us with yet another disappointing matty meltdown of a season.

Goodbye sweet hype, welcome to the NFL, Cam Newton. 3 picks is won't cut it. Come back down to earth.

Wow. He has only played one complete game and the Panthers are already relying on him to do everything. That kid is a leader. I told you... if we were gonna give up 5 picks for a player... It shoulda been...

The guy has what is now-days referred to as "tremendous upside." I greatly fear that the Panthers are regaining their fangs, my brothers.

Well the game is over but the guy had another 400 yard game. He's going to be a problem in the future.

In his first 2 games in the nfl, on an average team at best, this guy has put up nearly 1000 yards of offense. We're lucky to get that in 4 games out of Ryan.

I have liked their OC for a while. I was concerned when they signed him, and he is delivering. I wish we had him instead of Mularkey

lol didn't you just create a thread calling out the team and telling them you'll stop watching them if they go 0-5?

Because I DO have enough respect for them not to think they are a bunch of handicapped, rookies, broken down scrubs who can't win?

Who was it addressed to? The team, or coaches?

If you guys didn't take away that we can beat anybody after today's game, then you have NO respect for this team. You don't give them any credit.

Well that tells me neither one of you can actually read. Nowhere in that thread did I call out the team. I called out the coaches and it says it even in the title.

Uh...

All records aside, all praise aside, all excuses aside...reality is starting to set in..the fact is we are 0-2. I don't care what kind of season we're going to have, re-building, practice, whatever....I do NOT want to start 0-3, 0-4 or 0-5 like last year. I still wanna compete and be part of this playoff race, skeptics be damned, or at least win some damn games! I am about as happy as a fan can be at the moment considering his team is 0-2, but come next Sunday, I'm going to get pissed if we sit 0-3.

So speaking of notices, coaches you are on notice: this is all on you and your work. There is no reason why this team can't win some games. You have the weapons. You have a leader. Do NOT think you can hide behind Cam Newton's media orgy and we won't pay attention. This is arguably the easiest opponent we will have for the next 4 games so if you don't want to start the season 0-5 like last year or worse, Sunday is our best chance. I'm not sitting through another season of loss after loss! I will be doing other things with my Sundays if we end up 0-5 again. You HAVE been warned!

Seriously. It really is up to the coaching staff to get this team and its QB ready and eliminate as many mistakes as humanly possible from now to Sunday.

It's time to put in the extra hours if that's what it takes. There's really no excuse, rookie QB or not. Clausen didn't get a break last year, Moore didn't great a break last year, John Fox didn't get a break last year and Cam won't get a break this year either and neither should these guys....rookie or not, inexperienced or not, new coach or not, short training camp or not(all teams experienced it).....WE WANT A WIN ON SUNDAY!

PS: Keep your expectations in check and give some leniency you say? I am....me being excited and positive after our team starting 0-2 is doing just that: being very lenient. That doesn't mean we should also lay down completely.

I just made the parts bigger so you see what you said. You want wins, which is understandable. You don't want losses and there shouldn't be any excuses according to you. You're not giving the team coaches respect at all, especially with no OTAs, no Mini Camps, a lock-out this season when everything is in transition to implement a new offense and defense no less, only Preseason to get Cam up to speed and training camp. You're already dismissing the good stuff because you want a win...I mean wtf dude, you can't have it both ways. We are 0-2. Chill the heck out, hit the panic button if we are 0-7.

The coaches have gotten the team ready for every game so far, execution hasn't been there. We gave away both games, players screwed up, how's that the coaches fault? I'm gonna start calling you flipper, you're flipping back and forth every other post/thread you make.

Yes and let me repeat, YOU STILL showed me YOU CAN'T FREAKING READ even with BIG LETTERS!

I AM CALLING OUT THE COACHES TO FIX OUR MISTAKES FROM HERE ON OUT!

"COACHES YOU ARE ON NOTICE:"

And yes writing big font is as annoying to me and everyone else as it is to you!

But I was SPECIFICALLY addressing the coaches was I not? I was specifically pointing out I believe if we don't win, it's because of a COACHING ISSUE, not the team as a whole, didn't I?

Oh wait...why am I asking you? If you could freaking read, you would have gotten that part! So come back to me, after you learn to READ!

*shudder*

First of all the team doesn't bother me AT ALL at this point. I am 100% behind the team, believe in our team more than you do, give them far more credit for what they can do this year, and will continue to do so until some other teams prove me wrong. And no, I will stop watching if we suck ass, go 0-5 and we are no longer in playoff contention.....like I do every year.

That is a seriously sad statement. It's sometimes difficult to watch a team struggle but even if we're losing there is a lot to watch on this team and the growth from week to week should be fun to see. Enjoy doing other things with your Sunday afternoons if the Panthers don't flip a switch and suddenly become SuperBowl contenders - the rest of us will watch this team grow into the new staff's system and hope for wins...but we'll be entertained and keep watching regardless.

    • Agreed. A healthy bit from column A (stats) and column B (film) paints the most accurate picture, which is currently that Bryce is not performing up to the standard a 1st round QB (let alone drafted #1 overall) is expected to (statistically). When we dig into the film to see why, we see that while he's having his struggles (not stepping up in the pocket, bailing out early, hesitating on some throws, making occasional bad reads, etc) the team that surrounded him last season was simply awful. Bottom 5 defense, bottom 5 OL, bottom 5 weapons... but somehow one player has to overcome ALL of that in their rookie season? Yeesh... Taking this season into consideration, he started where he left off last season and was rightfully benched. Since starting again, the team has gotten on its first winning streak in a few years and he's made good plays to keep them in the game. Is he lighting it up? Nah... but he is beginning to show the reason so many draftniks had him as QB1a for his class. Re: what the team does next season... who friggin knows anymore at this point T_T. Resign Dalton? Sign Jones? Draft somebody in the mid-to-late rounds? Go with another UFA? Maybe grab an FA that can compete with Bryce for the starting position and draft a rookie to sit and develop? Might be best of both worlds for the team, but ugh... not a fun position to still be in with question marks throughout the position group.
    • Yeah, this is basically the same as asking, "What if Bryce Young suddenly had Patrick Mahomes brain, how would he do?" It isn't happening. This ship is beyond sailed. Send him somewhere else, let us move on and him move on.
    • Dalton is too close to starting right now. If it hadn't been for a car accident, he still would be. Switching Dalton for Jones does nothing except reduce the backup's age by a decade. One is in his NFL prime, the other is almost in his NFL grave. Not a horrible move if you're trying to improve the team. We've got to get better as a team and a lateral move like that would improve the team. The problem isn't that he's close to starting. The problem is we have a GM that signed off on BY and didn't bring in any serious QB competition for camp, a HC that said yeah, he's my guy until BY poo the bed so bad he couldn't start him, and an offense that's limited because BY can't make all the throws a normal NFL QB can.  The problem isn't that Jones could be an improvement as a backup QB. The problem is he could be better than our "franchise" QB.
