I thought I was In Wisconsin

Please disregard this thread. It was no where near close as far as attendance and noise level. Probably 80/20. Also, that place was loud and rocking on GB 3rd downs, almost as loud as I have ever heard. It really was a playoff atmosphere.

Indeed! There were a lot of Packers fans around me but the Panthers fans were extremely loud! It was extremely fun to be a part of a crowd that supports our team like that! Also it was really classy for Thomas Davis to run out of the tunnel holding up a Beason Jersey!

Isn't it pathetic? What really pissed me off was seeing a huge green banner hanging from the front row behind one of the endzones. No way our staff should let those tools in with a freaking banner!!!

I missed that... BUT it is against stadium policy for fans of other teams to hang banners on the walls. I know that for a fact, since I complained in writting about that back in Dec '09 and they responded in April '10 by changing the policy. Next time point it out to the usher and get it taken down.

this. we were loud as poo. haven't heard it that loud in a looonnnggg time. we were standing up on defense, and everytime I turned around to yell at the people behind us...people actually stood up and started yelling!

also, the defense pumping everyone up and telling us to get loud from the field helped a lot....and was also awesome.

lol the GB fans behind us were so mad.....one guy got up and came down to sit in front of us and actually said "is this your first game or something?"

wow dude really, its called cheering for your team....sorry I know that's hard to do being a bandwagon fan and all...

Playoff intensity ?

It's the second game of the season, with a rookie QB / untested O line / new coaching staff. This after a last season where we didn't invest in players and had the worst record in the NFL. I don't mind some empty seats at this point

There are many that will take some convincing to return the games, but WTF? Cam is setting records, Greenbay had the poo scared out of them, and then complimented our team and QB on the way out the door...yeah, that happens all the time.

Honestly, the true fans are there no matter what but it was so good to hear the crowd and to hi five Panthers fan up and down the section. It just felt like we are building our fan base back up, and again, seeing cheese headed fans quietly panicking was a so sweet....and it should be said, they were respectful.

Someone tore off a GB flag of a couples car in our parking lot, I thought that was complete BS and made sure they know we don't condone that type of crap. They was pissed but said that they are traveling to all the GB games this year and still think the Panthers fans are classiest...and he pulls for us when not playing his packers.....

My section always seems to be the last to actually stand up at games and they actually were doing so (well about 50%) at kickoff. Better than last year but don't kid yourself, it wasn't that loud.

it was loud as poo?

biscuit texted and said that's the loudest he's heard BOA on TV in a long time

Well compared to last season, but no where close what I've seen. Don't get me wrong, it was WAY more exciting than I've grown use to recently.

I'm in 336 so maybe the old farts that sit down the whole game disoriented my perception. And I came directly from Lane Stadium this weekend so the whole college -> NFL atmosphere change may have had an effect also.

Also, the 120s & 220s were very GB heavy

Here's what I want for our stadium... opposing fans don't show up, not because they're afraid of personal injury as in Oakland or philly because after all its just a game. But because fans KNOW when their team comes to BofA they are gonna get their ass run. No one wants to go watch their team get beat down.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
