Chud's one-dimensional offense

It's just a different run game. The holes will open for a more traditional run game but the short dump passes to our backs and screens and swings are all by design. It's more or less just an extension of our more traditional run game. Our backs had over 160 all purpose yards today, quitcherbitchen.

I don't care how many dimensions it has. It's putting points on the board and setting NFL records. Iron out the wrinkles over the course of the season and let the young guys grow into it, and it's all good.

I think a lot of people are stuck in the "pound the ball" mentality and can't fathom that the running game isn't the focus. That's not the Panthers anymore.

Lack of usage and personel in the FB department is one aspect. That aside, I think Chud is really trying to get Cam's growing pains (not much so far) out of the way early. I don't think he's so adverse to the run as he's showing right now. We can run the ball if given half the chance.

I can't complain over 18 yards?

Records don't win games and for all the passing yardage, we haven't managed 24+ points yet.

Say it with me.....'balance'.

psstt....We're two weeks in.

Okay, then the 400 yard games are a fluke then, right? What you are saying is it will eventaully balance out. Whew, I'm so comforted now by knowing that.

( Oh, good luck telling wagon that 400 yard games will start coming to an end though).

    • I see 4 winnable games on our schedule left. If we win two of them and Bryce continues his progress, this season is a success.  low expectations? Sure. But I think we’d have enough information to know Bryce is our starting qb next year and we can enter the draft with a high pick knowing what we need to improve.
    • Some of us may forget when Drew Brees “wasn’t” the great QB we faced in New Orleans. Prior to his HOF career, he was an afterthought in Dan Diego that was particularly liked by his coach Marty Schottenheimer.  But we all see how that turned out.  Bryce may never be the 2nd coming of Brees but let’s give him and the staff time to help him reach his potential.
    • Here’s another that we fans should keep in mind: Sometimes greatness takes time. Mahomes had the benefit of sitting a season behind Alex Smith after the Chiefs traded up to take him with the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Young, last year’s top pick, started 16 games as a rookie, going 2-14, absorbing 62 sacks and posting the league’s worst passer rating.
