pugh played really well today. not sure where the pugh hate is coming from.

He was single high for what seemed like most of the day.

Big scoring plays are what people remember. He's been burned a few times in each game both weeks. It sticks in peoples heads. It doesn't matter how well you play, if you are a constant victim of the big play you're doing something wrong.

james anderson, on the other hand, has been out of position against the pass, overpursues and gets run over against the run, and when he's blitzed, the thing he's best at, he hasn't gotten there.

What has james anderson done well this year?

AE has done fine on returns. He's getting stopped pretty quick after catching the ball, reducing his ability to do anything. He hasn't be stellar, but at least he isn't fumbling.

I made this point in another thread but to summarize, the way defenses are playing us hurts Deangelo more than Stewart. He needs room to work. When defenses start respecting Cam and the receivers more, Deangelo will start producing. Until then, Cam and Stewart will shoulder the load.

My vote goes to Naanee. Pugh has played pretty bad, but he's not a starter and expectations really shouldn't be that high for him anyway. Naanee was our #2 for these two games (hopefully not anymore, LaFell has more than earned that position) and Naanee showed flashes while in SD. Naanee's lack of effort is inexcusable. At least Pugh can't be accused of lack of effort.
