Cutler Formally Requests Trade

Jay Cutler is the league's biggest whiner. He thinks he's God's gift to football.

He may not be God's gift to Football, but he is to the Panthers!

You guys are acting like he is Brett Farve, his coach wanted Cassell.

He says he has a better arm then Elway and he wants to be traded...big whoop!!! (havent said that in years)

we can't trade peppers

Sure we can.

Until Peppers signs his tender we can't do anything with him.... unless you are being sarcastic? But with this trade request it might happen. I doubt it, why? Because Fox/Hurney looooove Jake.

Plus Cutler is a big baby,(this situation proves that) I don't think the Panthers are going to put up with a baby.

if people think cutler is not an imporvement over jake, then you guys are just insane. With our running game last year, Delhomme had a pathetic season last year if you ask me. TD/INT ratio almost 1. Rating less than 80. Had 12 TD passes total I think.

ANd people calling culter the biggest whiner in the NFL ... LOL ... WHAT ABOUT JAKE ?????? There almost identical in that category, so don't even bring that up in an argument.

Get three teams involved and this could be interesting.

Peppers to Denver

Denver sends Cutler to Carolina

Denver sends a 2nd and 4th round pick to Cleveland for Anderson/Quinn

So, Denver winds up with Pepp and a starting QB, Cleveland gets a couple of draft picks and the Panthers get their QB of the future.

As much as I appreciate Jake, his time is coming to an end. If the Panthers pull this off, they would certainly have to release Delhomme or find a trade partner. Since Delhomme's contract has not been reworked, he could be released and a good bit of cap space freed.

As far as ability Cutler is and upgrade. There is not doubting that. As far as leadership, I do not think he is an upgrade. There is a distinct lack of leadership on the offensive side of the ball when Jake is not on the field. People with short memories please refer to Vinny/Carr era.

This reminds me of when David Carr was going to be the solution to all our problems.

Right, except it's a completely different situation and talent levels are completely different.

You guys are Jake homers all around. You call Cutler a whiner, when Jake piss and moans after every call on the field. You give Jake props for being accountable, but he shouldn't be making that many mistakes to be that accountable. Jake probably does have the leadership over Cutler, but Cutler is young, and he could develpe that. Considering he'd take over a run-first offense with beast backs, he wouldn't be required to be the one and only player maker (like he was last year, all their RB's hurt and he still had a good year). I'd take the upside over the downside of this guy.

Jake is done, most importantly, no one is scared of him anymore. They figured him out a few seasons ago. He'll do fine though cause we had a good run attack, but you can't let a QB of the future slip through your fingers.

The double Cleveland trade idea sounds great.

You'd take Jake and his 1-2 years of throwing 3-4 INT's a game, 4 times a season, over Cutler because he has some leadership? Cutler is the type of QB you have got a decade.

If we had a deal worked out the tender would be signed.

Peppers is a big 'baby' too, perfect trade.

I say, with so much upside potential and given Jake's age and last two playoff games you say screw it and roll the dice if the Bronco's would deal with us.

Potentially you have a year in and year out Pro-Bowl/Franchise QB for the next Decade plus.

That is so rare, you take the chance but make it clear to Cutler not putting up with any crap and we are in it to win it. However, if Smith punched Cutler in the face or something it would be bad news.
