We lost because

Recommended Posts

1- we left points on the field (7 in 1st half)

2- another 2 breakdowns in the seconday that were TD's

3- Cam missed on a couple of TD throws

4- we still aren't running the ball

5- we didn't force any turnovers on Defense

6- Smitty turned the ball over on a boneheaded play when we were gaining momentum

7- I mean poo... I could go on forever

Now... I think that we look good, and Cam will learn from his mistakes...

If we can stay healthy, WATCH the FUG out!!!!

Your Panthers are not too far away.

Aaron Rodgers, at his post game presser, said he's happy that the Pack drew the Panthers early in the season, because once they get more acclimated to Rivera's schemes and Newton gets more time to "get it" - meaning the speed of the NFL game, they're going to be tougher than they were today.

Newton looks good but it was the Panther's defensive schemes that intrigued me. That is going to end up being one helluva unit.

Anyway, best of luck the rest of the season. As I said, in my opinion, they're not far removed...it's Rivera guys...it really is.

Cam should've never been put in that position. 3rd and 1, run the fuging ball up the gut. PERIOD!

Wrong. Last week I agreed with this. This week, it was the right call. Our run game officially blows now. He had no faith in it and I don't blame him.

Cam made a lot more mistakes today than last week, but so did the entire offense.

The coach also made some boneheaded calls. Turning down the 2nd and 17 in favor of a 3rd and 7 with Aaron Rodgers as the QB?.....it resulted in their TD drive.

I hated that call.

Cam and the Panther offense needs to work hard on RED ZONE OFFENSE this week. They don't quite have their timing right ... like say ... the Patriots do. The Patriots are machine-like in the red zone. Cam needs to get super sharp at doing his reads and identifying defensive player matchups ... all that chess game type stuff.

Cam needs to follow through and be consistent with his throwing motion on those "touch throws". There's a time to gun it and a time to just finesse the ball in there at low velocity, etc. The best QBs focus on making the optimal kind of throw for every situation.

The running game has GOT to get up to speed if the Panthers want to beat teams like the Packers. The Olne needs to blast some holes for the running backs. The receivers dropped some easy balls today. No more of that.

The O coordinator needs more weapons to work with. You can't be putting TOO much pressure on Cam. The running backs need to be able to make the big plays to keep defenses on their heels.

There needs to be a few reliable (but safe) running plays for Cam so that defenses can't sit back in coverage so much. Cam can make lots of plays with his legs. He's got to realize that this is the NFL though .... everyone is fast in the big leagues.

Cam's gotta get used to playing at 1000 mph on every play. All rookies have a problem with that. Once Cam gets used to playing at hyper speed and he's still very accurate throwing the ball the sky is the limit.

I expected the Panthers to lose today. The "degree of difficulty" rating for the Panthers in this game was high. At least we lost by getting up to the plate and swinging hard for the fences. They made mistakes today but we didn't lose because of lack of effort.

I agree about not running the ball with the rb's, but I don't think the rollout was the right call either. Probably should have let Cam keep it.

Not sure I agree about the holding though. Rodgers is one of the best qb's in the league, so I tend to think downs are more important than yards. As it was, the yardage on the next play was such that an additional 10 yards wouldn't have mattered (and yes, I know the play might have been different, but its impossible to know for certain). IMO, its kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.
