Give It Up For The D One Time

The D did make some big plays, but everybody seems to be forgetting about the Captain getting torched by Jordy Nelson. I know they were down emotionally when that happened, but that was a big deal.

Don't get me wrong though, I believe this defense is improving, but they need to eliminate those big plays. I was really happy with Johnson and Hardy today, especially since they were getting held like crazy. Those rookie tackles are struggling a little bit, but I believe they are learning too.

All in all, it was a pretty darn good effort against a great offense.

They did far better than I thought they would - that's for damn sure. Green Bay has an extremely dangerous offense and I thought given the number of times we gave it to them on a short field our D showed up.

Hats off to them.

I am ok to happy with how the Defense played. I definately need to give them kudos for only give up FG's and not TD's after the turnovers. I would have thought 7's on a couple of those drives.

That being sad, the defense NEEDS to stop giving up those big passing plays for TD's. There were 2 today, and several last week. They also need to do a better job blitzing. Besides the one play where Davis came in around the end and chased Rodgers down, they usually fail to get any pressure when they blitz. Its been two games and so far I think the blitz has been very ineffective and I think hurts them more then helps right now.
