Cam's rookie mistakes

Cosst us the game.

You can piss and moan about bad officating (there was a bit of it).

You can piss and moan about the lack of running in the second half.

You can piss and moan about steve smith having an off day.

Despite that, we still had a chance to win the game,

The game was lost by rookie mistakes.

The good news is, cam will get to the point he doesn't make those mistakes. He'll be one of the best to play the game.

Also want to give a shout out to our defense. So many turn overs, short fields, and they kept us in the game against the champs, arguably the best offense in the league.

This game was lost in the 1st half. The Panthers should've had 17 to 24 points at halftime. Those lost points dictated how the 2nd half unfolded.

Those rookie mistakes hurt, but you had a lot of veteran mistakes, as well, like the Steve Smith fumble, the penalties in the first half, and the two TD passes where Naanee came out of his break slower than he should.

When your qb is making mistakes in the redzone, they are much bigger. Qb touches the ball every offensive snap. Those mistakes are costly. Ignore it if you must, to praise the guy...he still cost us the game.

The only QB "mistakes" I saw in the red zone were the obsession with getting touchdowns instead of just making sure that you get the 1st down.

Regardless of what Mora said on those two Naanee passes, I have no doubt that Shockey, Olsen, or Smith would have caught one of those passes.

NAANEE REACTS TOO SLOWLY.

He's playing slower than the play, not Cam Newton.

 Just lol. Dude, just admit every pass Cam throws is NOT perfect.

How bout laying the blame where it is due? The OC set Cam up for failure by completely ignoring the run. Packers & Dom Capers are smart enough to know, just drop back & if you throw 90% of the time, something bad will happen. NO quarterback would be able to have success in that scenario. Chud really must establish a running game.

^Soooooo this! This thing about taking what they give us is starting to ring hollow. We use to be able to run relatively effectively with 9 in the box in year's past and we go 90%+ pass now just with one extra guy in the box? Really?

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
