Lost his job how? Luke only played TWO preseason games, and plus it's the PRESEASON!

Let me ask you... do you remember how David Garrard got the job? We cut Leftwich after the last preseason game because players were responding to Garrard better and he outplayed him. The same thing just happened again.

Jack Del Rio has only had 3 winning seasons out of 8. Seems like he's trying to put the blame on someone else to save his own ass, who's been in the hotseat for quite sometime.

Jack Del Rio and David Garrard were both told publicly this past offseason by the owner, Wayne Weaver, that if they did not make the playoffs this season, they were both done anyway. Most fans have been calling for the Del Rio era to be over starting a few years ago. We are happy his time is coming.

I remember hearing something eerily similar the season before. as a matter of fact I remember del rio having a sit down meeting with weaver in which he was told it was playoffs or out....know how i know....because usc fans wanted del rio for head coach after carroll left and we were all on del rio watch the day he met with him....

I had forgotten about him being looked at for USC until somebody on the Jaguars forum made a thread about what life would have been like had he jumped ship to USC. I don't like him as a coach other than that he goes for it on 4th down a lot, but what else is really out there as a coach? Cowher isn't going to go coach in Jacksonville.

The Garrard move was a money move. Common knowledge that he is better than McCown. As far as him not being on a team, there was ZERO chance he was getting picked up by anyone before week 1. Last time I checked I don't have any GMs phone numbers, and I am not in any of their offices so I don't have a clue who is interested and who isn't. I leave that to Glazer, Schefter and the rest.

Garrard would have taken a pay cut to start still. A few teams contacted him but he wanted to wait it out and see where he would be needed and the team he went to had a shot at the Super Bowl. My guess is he is waiting until after this week to see if a legit starter gets hurt other than the Colts who are nothing without Manning.
