Interesting Quote from DeAngelo Williams

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

I wonder how many of the posters on this board are as obsessed with old girlfriends as they are Fox. The hate is just stupid, bordering on weird.

The guy was and is a good coach, but he never got over the hump here. Maybe he will in Denver, maybe not, but I'm far happier with what he did than any other coach in Panthers history, and if Rivera can match it or do better that would be great.

Having Cam won't hurt, as far as that's concerned. :)

I feel after so many years of frustration watching the same glaring issues year in and year out, people are just excited to see something different..

I think that if they were they would spend their energy talking about what Rivera and Newton are going to do this week instead of seeing who can be the most OUTRAGED at imaginary transgressions committed by a coach who isn't here any more.

Look forward.

obviously you're right, if people would find some closure they wouldn't have to marinate on resentments from the past.

however, it's still fresh in peoples minds.. like an ex-girlfriend, rarely do you get over it the next day.. people's energy on message boards period is never proactive..

Steve Smith made his own man. Beason was bound to be great. Deangelo was riding the pine because of Fox's love for veterans.

Name one WR or QB that Fox developed into a main contributor. The only WR worth a damn was Carter and as far as QB's goes, Matt Moore played well in-spite of Fox not because of him.

When you take every player who played under Fox and say they developed on their own, then yeah he didn't develop anyone.

He made this team relevant? He also made this team the laughing stock of the league, was ALSO the coach who kept Jake in that playoff game instead of benching him. Coach who started Foster over Williams, and Brown over Johnson.

You don't bench your franchise qb in a playoff game no matter how bad he's playing.

The hate for Fox is simply due to him being an easy scapegoat. It's much easier for a fan to blame the coach, than their favorite players. Guys like Stewie, Beason, D-Lo, will rarely see negative comments. Then you have player scapegoats like Clausen who also get the hate. Fox played a role in this team's lack of success, but most of it falls on the players if you want the truth, and on Hurney/JR. But fans refuse to believe that. Some here actually blame all of our failures on Fox.

We'll see, Denver isn't looking any better than the team they were last year, it's still early in the year. But we'll see.

If you don't understand the hate for fox, you've probably been sleeping for the last 5 years

Yea yea yea "buttetwooothousandthreeeeeffffffffffffffffffff!!!!!!"

Basically the same people that defend fox to the death were the same people that used to rip seifert every chance they got.

"this place has a nice stable of quarterbacks, unlike some places i've coached *wink**wink*"

Yes thank you fox, because even though your teams sucked unless you had jake delhomme in his prime, underachieved despite having adequate talent in most positions going into most years, and handled your departure with zero class, among other things, you got us an nfc championship, which every other team in the conference besides maybe the lions have at least one of.

Richardson was willing to pay fox top coaching money knowing there was no long term vision including fox, and offered him the chance to go look for greener pastures, and instead of being a competitor, fox gladly took that six million to be a lame duck and coach a team that didn't have the personnel he wanted. Meanwhile, in minnesota, brad childress gets fuged over royally by zygi wilf after almost going to the superbowl one season prior, partly because childress cut randy moss for making an ass out of himself in the locker room. He got fired like a week after wilf went to the media and said he wasn't going to be fired, and fox is the one bitching about his "plight".

    • Start with Bryce, this is like his rookie year. The 1st 2 games proved her was wired wrong and it looks like (we hope) he needed a time out to reset and be the player that was drafted. He's still about a year or more away from being a top 15 QB, if the Panther give him another playmaker or 2 (a top WR and a decent TE) and maintain that line. Canales deserves credit as playing that card correctly to motivate (or refocus) his QB for one last shot to decide his and the Panthers immediate future. As a Panther fans we should hope he keeps improving as we invested so much to get him. CJ Stroud will never have a season like he had, even if he stays a top 10 QB. He's got great character so I'm rooting for Bryce to continue on his positive journey. Canales is playing the week to week thing with bryce perfectly. Nothings guaranteed, earn it weekly which builds consistency and consistency is greatness.  Keep the O-line. They've got to extend Brady C, along with Mayes that have a real good 7. Great job Morgan starting with the big guys upfront.  I really hope they draft a DE or OLB in the 1st round. Getting Brown back with A Robinson and what DJ has shown that we can have a decent D-line. Need a CB in the early rounds/ or a time FA to go with Horn.  The future as to next year being good enough to challenge for the division is within reach. Just show progress (win or lose) every week. Kudos to Dan Morgan. Plays GM like a LB. Tackle the problem and move on, don't just hope it works out. Find guys with your playing mentality and work closely with your HC to share a vision. Teamwork starts at the top and flows down.
    • Since we play the Panthers today and tmrw, we will have one gigantic double thread for both games. Today’s game is at 3pm and tmrw is 7pm.    After beating the Rangers and sending the those yankee bastards back to Cary, we get the Champs in the house.  Clean up the defense, no more lazy clears, and score baby score.  LFG CANES!
