Kure Beach lunch

Jackofalltrades

I got to move here, love this place so far. It's an actual city, unlike Myrtle Beach which is just a huge, crappy tourist trap.

The food I had, lobster roll, was absolutely terrific.

Kure Beach is a city? I like it, but its about 1 mile long at best. :)

When we were there last year, there were only about 3 places to eat. Big Daddy's and a couple of places by the pier. They were all good, but nothing to write home about. There are some really good places up in Wilmington. Or is you want to take the ferry over to Southport, some nice places there as well.

Middle of the Island at wrightville beach

you are dating yourself!

I don't know a lot about Kure Beach but I drove thru it on the way to putting our flounder boat in at Federal Point and going flounder gigging 3 nights in a row. I am now a master at cleaning flounder! And I'm here to tell you, fresh flounder beat any restaurant flounder. House of Autry ftw.

So many restaurants around here don't serve seafood any fresher than you get in Charlotte or elsewhere. Anyone who's worked at a "seafood" restaurant will tell you about opening boxes of shrimp and scallops (shark) from thailand and letting them defrost.

My Fave's

fine dining: Portland Grill, Aubriana's, Marc's on Market

sushi: Genki's (new centre near target, thank me later) or Yosake downtown

asian: Indochine or Double Happiness

Hip: Basics, Ostio Cicchetti's (sp?), 1900

comfort: sweet and savory (breakfast/lunch/dinner....cannot go wrong) or Jester's on Castle st.

just a list from memory, sure there are more.
