Congratulation on being the optomist that kicked ass last week in FF. Sometimes it pays big to have your head in the clouds. Good job.

To me it's hard to judge how good the cardinals are or how good the Saints are this year so it's hard to judge the strengh of the Panthers or the Packers. I've never have been impressed with the Saint's D and I think our d can be much better than theirs. Now I believe it is entirely possible for the Panthers to show on D and win this game.

I hope you're right and I want to believe, but I am going to temper my expectations. If we do win on Sunday, I think that we can significantly alter our expectations for this team- this year.

Sure we have a chance to win. Two running backs who can take it home on any run, a wide receiver that needs to be double covered and two tight ends that can stretch the field. I think the keys to success would be to work the tight ends in the same manner that New England did to Miami.

Honestly, the more I look into this Sunday, the more I believe. Just seems too strange. New staff, rookie QB, good targets to get the ball to, etc. This isn't the 1-dimensional offense of old (with the occasional shot to Smitty down the field). This is a match-up offense and an athletic offense now with the addition of Cam.

GB has a good defense. They have one of the best (if not the best) QBs in the league. They have big-play capability with their skill guys. They play all 3 facets of the game well. But here is the thing, we match up with them.

Gamble did a good job against Fitz last week. We played the run well at times, and we did OK overall (forget the stats, people. Missed tackles...). Coverage is still iffy, but all we have to do is weather the storms as they come.

This is going to be the game-changer. What will GB's defense do? Will they take the Arizona route and blitz all-living-hell at Newton? Will they show a lot of zone-blitz schemes? Will they sit back and wait for Newton to make a mistake? This is the important factor. And the beautiful thing is, with Cam's skill-set, we can capitalize on all of it. The run game could be there this week, assuming the OL has their collective head out of it's ass. This is what we need.

Just no stupid mistakes on ST and we'll be fine.

This is the NFL. There is a 10 point spread. We didn't run the ball particularly well in week 1, in fact I think DeAngelo Williams looks like he's done. I think we are somewhat one dimensional in talking about Cam having to make most of the plays. We haven't had a run game yet.

If the heroes are out, the Packers don't cover the 10 but probably still win. In all likelihood, Cam shows his age and experience and comes back to earth. This is one of those games where there is no way, if you've watched the NFL long enough.

Another area where we have to be better is penalties: 10 for 74 yards against the mediocre Cardinals was one of the worst team performances last week and will not translate well against Green Bay. Many of the penalties were O-line if I recall.

DeAngelo has a mediocre performance in the FIRST week and he's done. People are so impatient it's crazy. You'd think it was week 10 and he had only been able to muster 150 rushing yards for the year or somethin.
