Week 2 BOLD predictions

After the last performance it will be damn near impossible not to take a step back.

Kinda true, but his stats weren't what impressed me (or rather, weren't the most impressive part of what he did) but the way he was able to scan the field on many plays, buy a second or two, etc. He basically did what I hadn't seen him do before and it was nice to see him playing beyond what I typically think of as a rookie level.

• Cam Newton will throw at least three interceptions

Honeymoon’s over, Cam. Or at least, it’s back to real life for a week.

Newton had an incredible debut performance, shredding Arizona’s pitiful pass defense for 422 yards and two touchdowns. He tossed just one INT in that game, a 28-21 loss, but the challenge in front of him is about to kick up a notch.

Sure, the Packers allowed more than 400 yards passing to Drew Brees on opening night. But that’s Drew Brees. Green Bay will come after Newton with a variety of blitzes that he hasn’t seen before, and Charles Woodson will do what he can to take away Steve Smith, who had eight catches for 178 yards in the opener and was clearly Newton’s first choice.

I don't think he'll be as successful as last week but I can't see three picks. I expect to see a bit more running to keep the Packer's O off the field.

All sounds about right to me.

Another thing worth mentioning is that Newton started strong, but he's more than likely going to be rather inconsistent this season. One game, he'll look like the second coming. The next, he'll look turrible*.

That being the case, 3 picks against the Packers doesn't seem like that bold of a prediction.

I'm pragmatically optimistic in general about this game.

I also expect to see a little bit of that Auburn offense this week. Maybe it will throw the packers defense off balance.

I agree, how about getting to the edge and keeping the GB D line to stay home more. It's time to see just how good this coaching staff is, can they adapt and plan sets of plays to knock good defenses back on their heels?

Ball possession for the Panthers will determine the score...run to throw

when we shread his defense with screens and quick hitters and send our runners outside Capers toupe' will be hanging sideways by the end of the day.

Our D is also going to hold Rogers to under 25 points.

Now that's a bold prediction !!!!!
