Clay is strong side, so yeah. Probably gonna have a career game.

I know a concussion isn't the same as blowing your knee out but god damn, Otah is made of glass and couldn't even stay on the field last week before running out of breath. He hadn't play in OVER A YEAR. That is inexcusable. Thomas Davis had been out even longer and was all over the fuging place making plays in week 1. He didn't need any breaks. If Otah keeps this poo up we need to grab Kalil or Martin or Reiff next year. Trade his ass to get our 3rd rounder back.

Thomas Davis participated in all of camp and he weighs half of what Otah weighs. There should be a considerable drop off in conditioning. Also, Otah is in a fight every snap, something you can't say for any non line position.

Maybe we will be alright.

I remember when we used to get excited when Pep was going against a rookie, or some scrub. Then Pep would get shut down.

We will probably have plenty of help for Bell, having a TE give a chip block and then release and also a running back to help.

I believe we are going to be okay

you act as if Otah is above average in pass protection....

Matthews might get to Double Trouble easier.....not sure it really will matter in terms of protecting Newton on clear passing downs

also, the only way you find out of you have a diamond in the rough is for them to get shot due to injury....look at GB as an example. Injury has shined the light on better options for them.

To see the glass half full, this guy has a great backstory and is certainly looking at this as a career-defining moment. Making the team as UDFA, making the final cut (injuries helped, but still), getting the nod to start because the stud RT is out with injury, home opener, world champs coming in, and rookie QB to protect.

This is how you set the stage for great moments - we may have something special in this guy, and I'm sure he's aware of the opportunity in front of him. I'm 100% behind Byron Bell - go get em, big guy!!

When the Green Bay Packers start having sorry, lazy, unmotivated sacks of poo on their D-Line, then your prediction might come true.

wasnt that his first game in over a year tho... and against woodley on top of that

Otah wasn't above average in college nor in his 24 games in the NFL in pass protection......he is a top run blocker. average in pass protection. we will lose something in the ground attack.....but I don't see Otah being out meaning pass protection will really give Matthews that big of an edge over if Otah was in.
