Mac Attack brought up good point on home field advantage Sunday...

I went on a couple dates with this guy last year....he was a "panthers fan". It definitely ended up not working out when I realized I couldn't hold a legit football conversation with him.

Anyways....we were texting for a little while afterwards, him trying to get another date, etc....I was with my gfs one night at the bar and randomly ran into him...super awkward. He comes up and starts talking to us, immediately asks me about the Panthers...this was about 5-6 games into the season.

I asked if he was going tot he game that wknd and he laughed and said he had sold off the rest of his tickets for the season....I said that was understandable but it better not be opposing fans...u know just kinda jkin

He laughed and said he didn't gaf....most were opposing team's fans and he didn't care as long as he was getting good $$ for them..I proceeded to yell at him and tell him he was the kind of person that made our fan base look bad and he was the reason our stadium is full of other team's fans.

Needless to say, I haven't talked to him since and don't plan on ever talking to him again. Don't you dare call yourself a fan, SIR! That. really. pissed. me. off.

Don't fuging give your tickets to opponent fans. Its stupid and just causes for more of a headache in the stadium.

Jackasses.

Best

Breakup

EVAH!!

A knee to the groin would have made the story that much more enjoyable - true or not.

Oh - and what did TD say on FNZ this morning? I wasn't listening.

Gonna be at the game and gonna bring out the Panther paw foam hats for this game. They are hot to wear but Should give some balance to the cheeseheads there. Can't find a picture or I would post it. Don't think they sell them anymore.

Great, so everyone is going to have a stupid hat on. If there is one thing that grinds my gears, it is large groups of people wearing the same stupid hat.

Me too, and I don't mean that as a negative against BOA. But sitting endzone week 1 in San Diego when Delhomme threw that last second pass and having everyone go silent except for me, my wife, and the 20 other Panthers fans there was an unbelievable experience.

Don't know if I can top that, but one can hope. The beatdown against Tampa on MNF in 2008 was pretty close. Watching Dlo and Stewart being unstoppable in the 4th Quarter and the crowd going crazy was fun.

Also, the ATL game at BOA in 2005 was amazing. Everyone was jingling their keys chanting "85 South" to all the Falcons fans after we beat them walking down the ramps was cool

Its always really loud walking down the ramps when we win.....or maybe its just me being wasted and yelling at everyone?

The Vikings game 2 years ago was also awesome and loud as poo. You could see the cameras shaking on TV because the stadium was rockin so much! We need moar games like that

Watching the Oakland/Denver game on MNF the TV screen was shaking.

I'm not trying to be an asshole, or stir the pot on anything here, but this is another problem that bothers me. Too many people in this town root for another team before they root for the Panthers. Another reason why we Panthers fans are drowned out by large opposing traveling fan bases like the Redskins, Packers, and Cowboys because Panther fans will root for the other team ahead of the Panthers when they are here and they will go to the game and dress in that team colors and jerseys.

I'm a Panthers fan, but I am a die-hard Packers fan. My family grew up in Wisconsin and I even have pictures of myself wearing Packers jerseys and cheeseheads when I was 2 years old. Since the Panthers are the local team, I will cheer for them every game but to be honest, I will never cheer against my Packers. I'm addicted to them. Not that this proves anything but I can name every player on the team and practice squad by name and number and give you the exact depth chart every week.

if PSL owners sell their home opener tickets to Packer fans online......then they should be punched in the face.

Yeah...pretty sick of this. Hopefully Cam's week 1 performance will be good enough to get some fans out there. The thing that I don't get is if you have enough cash to spend on a PSL and the season tickets cost every year and you have the time to go to the game then why are you selling your ticket? If you're selling your Panthers tickets every week for some quick cash then you need to get your finances in order or get rid of your PSL b/c there are people out there that would love to have it and actually go to the game every week.

One or the other? I am a 100% Packers fan. When the Panthers play I cheer for them. That doesn't mean I cry when they lose. When the Packers lose I am upset for the next month. When the Panthers lose I really don't give a damn. I love football so I like to watch Panthers games every year but that doesn't mean I will jump out of my chair when they score a touchdown. Yes, the Panthers are my 2nd favorite team. That doesn't mean they are even close to the Packers.

As to having another favorite team, I was stationed in new orleans in the 80's and was a huge Aint's fan. Walking to the game through the french Quarter and watching the snake try to not get killed was a blast..the saying was he threw best on his back...but the town was behind him and when Mora brought Sam w/ him there was the same new found fan base as now.

Carolina is a relatively new team and we all have teams we pulled for before the Panthers.. hence the dual loyalties...i bet many Panther's fans are closet redskin fans.

But I gave up the Saints when the Panthers arrived, if fact I really dislike them. If you still support another team, just do it...I'm sure there is a homer bar in CLT for you...Being in GSO, I wouldn't mind a list of Panther's bar to support....in CLT

What kills me is people who come on this board and claim to be _________ fan first, Panthers fan second...Why are you on this board? Do us a favor and go to the __________ fan board.

I grew up a Raiders fan, because we didn't have a team in NC and my uncle was a die-hard Oakland fan. I envied other states (especially those that had two or more teams) because I didn't have my own team from my home state. As soon as we were awarded with a franchise, my allegiance to Oakland was over. I am a proud Carolina Panthers fan, win or lose...good or not...for life.

As far as the grammar police, I used to be one (mostly due to my job). But now, I have realized that some people just don't care that their credibility is shot when they make these types of mistakes. No, you are not writing an essay on the internet, but it says something about you when you don't know the difference between their, they're, and there. In speaking, it doesn't matter if you don't know the difference. When writing, the reader sometimes can't get over the fact that you don't know/recognize the difference and that leads them to overlook your message and underestimate your knowledge. Just sayin...
