Interviews with Cam and Shock

Surprised there is no recap yet, but I went back and listened to it and here is my best shot:

Cam says when you look at the great players, they play their best when they actually have to (mentions Rodgers and Brady) and says they need to break the trend and get a win.

On his nerves: Says always has the mentality to win and coach Rivera always says "win the 1" Sunday didn't turn out how they wanted to, they just have to stay focused to accomplish the common goal.

On the transition from college to NFL: It's about the process. Everyone looks at Sunday results, but that only presents a fuzzy view of how people become good at what they do. You can't have bad practice after bad practice and expect it to click on Sunday. Says it has to be consistent and Sundays need to be reactionary and that comes with good practices and preparation.

Now for Shockey...

Says it was enjoyable to play a real game besides pre-season. Never happy when you lose, but Cam had an excellent game. Can tell the feel for the game is becoming more natural for him.

On how quickly Cam adjusted: Not really surprised at his quick adjustment 'cause Shockey practices with him every day. Important thing about being young is putting good games together back to back. Says Cam has done everything well and on the sideline you're holding your breath because you expect every play can be a big play.

On Cam's performance: Not shocked at all again because he practices with Cam every day. Has big shoes to fill, but he's done a great job so far. Knows Cam was disappointed. Shockey only lost 1 game in college so he knows how Cam felt.

On TE talent and Greg Olsen: Olsen is a top tier kind of guy, it's great playing with him and being with him in the locker room. He's definitely talented and the other TEs are all talented too. Gonna let the relationship grow, Cam grow and the offense grow.

On health and being a 10 year Vet: Always feels good early in the year. Broke a finger in the game Sunday, but that's just a normal football thing that happens every week. Says he may look good for a 10 year vet, but doesn't feel that good.

On future of Panthers: A true fan sticks by the team year in and year out. Things are getting better, and even though they didn't win, it's frustrating to fans and to the players as well. Says they're working very hard to do anything they can to get better and pull off a win. Gonna do everything they can to make the crowd louder and louder.

On Cam vs other QBs Shockey has played with: A huge competitor, willingness to win is beyond belief. He definitely hates to lose and that's a great attribute to have. He's exciting to play with and he'll only get better and better.

Off topic on Miami vs Ohio State: Not predicting a score because they lost last time he did.

Neither were very insightful interviews and now I'm starting to understand why there wasn't a recap. :(
