Predicting a loss vs. GB

Everyone in this thread is looking at this game the wrong way. While the objective of the game is to win, and I damn sure want us to, this game is not about winning or losing.

It's a test.

It's a test against what is considered the best team in football right now. It's a test to see what areas we need to improve, and what we can do well. It's a test to see how our coaching and game planning matches up to the Super Bowl winning staff just one year out. It's a test to see if the worst team in the league last year can improve enough to give the best team in the league an actual game.

Anyone who is a Panther's fan wants a W. But there's a good chance we walk away with a L. Don't invest yourself into the outcome right now. Just hold on and keep watching for the results of this test.

I've said it before... with all the factors going against us, new HC, super short off-season, rookies playing in key starting roles... we are looking at an extended preseason through game 7 at least.

It may be a test, but at the end of the day, it's a game that needs to be won. Winning matters, test or not. I don't want to start the season 0-2.

If it's a test, then I wanna be tested on how to win as the underdogs and pass with flying colors. We'll be better as a team and grow better, if we're also winning games while learning. We can learn all we want from our mistakes and weaknesses, including how to overcome them to win the damn game!

WIN!

I've always wondered how some of you guys can cheer for a team yet have no faith in them?

Plenty of faith in the team. But it is the fuging packers. They are more experienced and not learning an entirely new scheme on both sides of the ball. They have an objective edge. I do think we can win, just have to play mistake free football.

I think we lose by double digits.. I can only hope to see improvement and flashes of greatness from Cam, and I will be happy with this game. I have succumb to the fact that this is a learning year, and do not expect to make any sort of playoff push. Experience and continuity in the name of the game.

Yeah, I thought I covered that.

I'm talking about as FANS what the expectation should be, and how to look at this game.

If you turn on your TV and say "OUR WINNING WINNERS MUST WIN THIS GAME RRAAAAARRAH!", you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

If you turn it on and say "Ok Panthers, you're climbing the highest hill in Pro sports being the worst playing the best, but let's roll.", then watch and see what happens, you'll be doing yourself a favor.

This. Very well said. I agree 100 percent.

Just wanted to drop by and wish you guys luck. Here is a to a hard fought injury free game. I don't think Newton will put up the numbers he did last week, but is a large threat to deal with. He will learn a lot this Sunday as Dom Capers is genius at blitz packages. But of course you knew that. Bad for you he wasn't as good of a head coach as he is a coordinator.

A home dog on a home opener is a very dangerous combination. We need to come out hot like last week to neutralize those of you at the game. But we do travel very well and you will see a lot of green and gold there as well.

Once again here is to a good game. Will check back later if I have time.

Cam and the offense will keep the Panthers in the game, but Aaron Rodgers will completely cut open the Panthers secondary. If Kevin Kolb can have the day he had...first game on a new team in a new system...imagine what Rodgers is going to do with the hurry up offense and all the weapons he has. With Beason out and Connor a serious liability in pass coverage, it's going to be wide open up the middle.

I just hope McDermott realizes there isn't enough talent in the secondary to blitz as much as he wants.

Prediction:

Packers 45

Panthers 28

Panthers need to pin their ear backs and get after Rodgers, its there only chance.
